I did a walk around of my Deuce yesterday & found a far left outside tire looking very sad & partially flat. After work today, I cranked up the truck & added air to the tire after checking out if any nails, wire, screws, glass or any other FOD was in it. Tire was clean & held air...so it was...
It is there to remove any large junk that made it thru the pump out of the fuel tank, it also gives any water that you might sucked out of the tank, a place to stay till you drain it out the system the next time you do a prestart inspection before you drive the truck. Some of the older trucks...
Welcome from North Florida, post up some pictures of your new to you truck. We all have to see pictures. There is much information & guys to help you along with getting your truck in tip top running shape.
I have to pick up a 1985 Deuce from Gov Planet when the EUC clears & the waiting is the...
I paid an after auction visit to my new to me 1985 Deuce from Gov Planet last week. It is less than 20 miles away, so an easy trip. The truck looked as it was photographed in the pictures from IP so that was good. They left out the picture of the battery box........it still has the Hawker...
I applied for my 3rd EUC today, auction was over yesterday, EUC was accepted also today & we shall see how long this takes. 8 to 12 weeks is the average timeframe. I'm guessing 6 weeks!
I bought an Air Force deuce to match the one I have now, but in camo, Gov Planet auction just 25 miles North of me. This makes 2 1987 M35a2c trucks and one 1996 M-1081 LVAD LMTV.
Power is still out here in my AO, so no internet connection.
For some reason the drivers side window is almost always broken out on the M1081. Mine was delivered with no window or cranking mechanism to roll it up or down, or a turrent cover for that matter. Still looking for all parts with no success. Good luck sourcing your broken or missing parts.
Thanks for posting these two pages of threads of your adventures. Your kids have a chance to see things most of us will never see & all in a military vehicle setting here in the states. Please keep posting till the vacation is over. All this in a 5 ton military truck/radio shack shelter & a...
I replaced the wooden troop seats with a complete new fiberglass troop seat ensemble! The old seats were original & weathered. It took 5 hours to remove & replace the seats with the truck as loaded as it is. The heat was 95 in the building with no ventilation other than the open roll up door...
The Belleview event is not really large, but big enough to be fun & have a few dozen trucks & displays. There is also the large fleamarket behind the event that is permanent. The Mt Dora event is much larger in size with more room for trucks, covered vendor area, camping from primitive to 50 amp...
I think you might want to look closer @ the location of where it is held. The flyer says Belleview, Florida for the October event & Mt Dora for the February event. I go to both every year & love it.
I get $1.59 per foot for a 25' roll on their website, when I get home, out comes the measuring tape for needed length & then off to order some. Thanks for the info very much!
I would guess the last owners in Oregon never hooked a trailer to it. Good to hear that the repair was easy & cheap. October & the Markets of Marion will be here soon enough; not to forget the Georgia Rally!
When you get ready to move the wrecker again, call me & I will pick you up from your storage facility & take you back home. No problems with towing issues that way. Just do it on a weekend is all I ask. Taking off work is very hard to do now that the company laid off 25 of our few productive...
I've towed both the M-105a2's & the M-1102's with a Toyota Tacoma & the Deuce, The M-1102's from Atlanta, Ga to Gainesville, Fl with no problems, but you knew they were back there due to sheer size. The M105a2's came from Jacksonville NAS to home & you knew they were there when it came to...
