What did you do to your deuce this week?

It really comes in handy. On the driver's side I installed a 2-step boat ladder that collapses, fits under the plate and ties with a piece of velcro. It's really nice not worrying about where my shoes are, or if I need to move them and need to check that I don't step off - it's a long way...

    Almost bought a truck today

As to waiting for the right sale. I had found what I thought were good deals, even paid a mechanic in another city to do a mobile check on one truck. But the sellers were sketchy and the sale didn't feel right. Guy was willing to pick me up at the train station, then we'd drive to the middle...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got my truck back from a mechanic today. Had them do some work that I couldn't do, and some work that I could but was too lazy to get to. I still have plenty of other work that needs doing that I will be doing, so I'm not completely lazy, just occasionally. So, I already installed a bumper...

    M35A3 wheel question ?

Well, I don't know as much about the A3 as I do about the A2 (which still isn't much). So, are you more concerned about maintaining a stock look? Or do you want something that looks flashier? Will the knobby (like the Michelin XL look) 46" tires fit ok on the A3? There's a small gap for the...

    M35A3 wheel question ?

How much do you drive, and where do you drive? The answer to this should play a role in what tire you plan on getting.

    "Ran when parked" thread.

For what it's worth, a much larger tow truck, used for semi trailers is used for deuces. Towing isn't the only way to recover a vehicle though. A ten ton winch on another truck would probably do the trick to pull it out of something.

My 1971 Am General m109a3 RV build

For heat you could also go with a mini wood stove, like this one: This thing is a little bigger than a loaf of bread and is designed for boats. I'm planning on using one and installing it in the same area where the shower will be - It'll be on a stand and I'll also put down a welding blanket...

Sorry to say, but what you're talking about may not be simple. How were you planning on supplying the power? The HVAC unit will probably be your biggest draw. If you're gonna use a generator, you can probably use a mini-split system. If you don't want to use a generator, it starts getting...

    "Ran when parked" thread.

Before I go down a strange road, I try to stay within 1 day's walk of some road that gets traffic. However, I am also considering getting a satellite phone in the future, or if Elon ever gets his project up and running, probably use his network. If you're referring to getting the vehicle out...

My 1971 Am General m109a3 RV build

There are handles on the side, but I don't know that they are strong enough for tie downs. I think maybe an exoskeleton built around the item, at the very least a frame built around the bottom with strapping. It also might be prudent (or not) to open the appliance up and see what's inside...

My 1971 Am General m109a3 RV build

I've been considering a SunDanzer, I've read that it's very efficient. I've done a lot of research on electrically efficient appliances. I got a Wisco countertop oven. I'm not sure how much off-road travel I'll be doing, but I don't want to shy away from any. Don't know how any of these...

Thinking about pulling the Deuce Trigger Again

When I first bought my truck, I drove it back from Salt Lake City in March, over the mountains. I alternated dropping a hand below the level of the seat as that area was plenty hot. Seal up all the holes in the cab, and it will generate a fairly comfortable temp.

I look forward to seeing your project. I often learn from other's projects. I've been working/planning mine for a couple years now.

Thinking about pulling the Deuce Trigger Again

They seem to add at least $10k to the price, over an A2. My perception (true or not) has always been the power steering, automatic transmission, diesel engine, big tires and just being newer vs the A2. I think the A2 scares some people away.

    M35a2 value?

Why can't you get a new title from where ever that title is from? I've lost titles before and had them replaced. Is it in your name somewhere or someone else's? A lot of people walk away from a sale if there's no title, especially in a state like WA where everything is expected to have a title.

    M35a2 value?

They're worth what you can get for them. That said, the US coasts (east or west) tend to be higher than the center of the country. I live on the west coast and I tell people running models start around $5k, give or take. Any mods can add, but like all mods, not nearly as much as they cost...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

While this is something I pay attention to on my BMW, on my deuce, not so much - my assumption being the truck appears over-engineered in more than a few places.
