G'day everyone,....
WOW that was great going at only $300.00, I was quoted $4,000.00 as mine was classed as commercial simply because of its size.
I am just north of Melbourne. Looks like I am about 140-150ish klm from you.
;)
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
I kinda don't wanna know what the 'ferry ride' cost because I once got a quote to take my Deuce over to Tassie,....
I was thinking of going on a trip for a weekend,...
Got the cost and ended that plan right there and then!
Great find and I hope its not going to be more...
G'day everyone,....
With your brakes you will only need to get specific parts like slave cylinders/ master cylinders or rebuild kits for same from the US.
Things like hard lines and flexible lines are generic and any brake place here can make them.
When I collected mine from AQIS I found one...
G'day everyone,...
I'm next door in Victoria.
You got a great find there.
Would love to see more pictures and any video, maybe while you are getting it started, I'm sure we would all love to see and hear it running,....
I hope you get to fully restore it back to its former glory.
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
And a big G'DAY from a fellow Aussie,....
What state are you in?
I might be able to bring mine over for a visit.
You will have no problems at all shipping parts into Australia.
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
Drive up a hill/incline and attach cable to a fixed object, release brakes and let vehicle roll backwards while you unwind cable.
Once cable is fully unwound, let vehicle hang on the cable while you wind it back up!
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
Today I collected my secondary fuel filters that I can source here at my end, funny thing is they are made in Mexico!
Also I collected the oil filters.
Now all I have left to do is find a local distributor for my primary fuel filter and air filter.
A job for next week...
G'day everyone,....
I hate to sound mercenary here but are any of these organisations your helping going to be contributing to the maintenance your going to have to do afterwards?
It would be perfect if you could just roll up to the National Guard motor pool and have that done for you as a...
G'day everyone,....
The blackout lights seem to be normal small globes, I don't think they are in fact IR or UV lights, I will take pictures of them next time I get my Deuce out of storage.
Also the corrections I was making with the steering was mostly because the road I was on was an old...
G'day everyone,...
Well water only came in where the seals had flaked away because they were dried out, brittle and had cracked.
You can see clear gaps/holes.
So if I put in new rubber seals that fit ALL the way around it should seal ok.
At least that's my thought process.
I'll do the same...
G'day everyone,....
Yesterday I mate and I took my Deuce out for a run in the rain,...
I need to replace those window seals,...
Also I confirmed last night that my blackout lights work,... except for front drivers side, will have to look at that one next time.
Just looks so cool...
G'day everyone,.....
Mines the same, it is always around the 160 mark, when I went up a mountain here last weekend it made it to 170 for the first time since I have had it.
Will see what it dose when I go the same way tomorrow.
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
The fuel gauge in my Deuce mostly works,...
It has never read full, when the tank is full the gauge will show 3/4 of a tank and when empty it will show around 1/4 .
Aussie.
G'day everyone,....
Going by what you have said it sounds like you have a circulation issue, I would start with the thermostat.
Take it out and test it to find out if it is in fact opening and if so at what temp it opens,...
If its not the thermostat then you may have a blockage elsewhere in...
G'day everyone,....
Got the air hose fitting I needed to connect my air hose to the air line inside my Deuce:
Now I can adjust my tyre pressure as needed, when needed!
Just before I put my Deuce away for the night I was going over the engine and I took the oil fill cap off and had a look...
