Using your CUCV as a generator

For your power shortages is probably best choice to buy diesel or gas generator. CUCV can do lots of things, but it wont replace your morning coffe and porridge.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Kind of carried away - as front LEDs are great, i ordered another set, idea is recess to bumper. 40W wide beam area. Mainly, because previous owner already ruined rear blackout light holes - one for reverse light and other for red fog light. As lights were bigger, this a**hole just made holes...

    Another hi/lo headlight question.

Thanks guys! Try to test tomorrow if not snowing too mutch. Click is crisp but yes, it is old switch... Edit: sure, it is faulty hi/lo switch on steering column. Jumper wire did job, now is time to new switch. When waiting switch arrival, i bought pair of 50W led lights - they are hi beam but...

    Another hi/lo headlight question.

Today my 1009 started acting weird - sometimes i can switch to LO headlights, sometimes only HI lights are working. (i.e. HIgh on and OK, LOW not) What do you think - headlight swich on steering column? Too cold outside to do thorough inspection. And i need to drive tomorrow in dark time - is...

    Steering box input seal leak

Power steering fluid (basically hydraulic oil) is different from ATF. Not same foaming and additives. As far as i know GM always used power steering fluid, not ATF. You can feel difference rubbing both between fingers. One is silky, smooth, ATF is "grainy" (if my english is correct).

    Pushbutton upgrade for thumbless people.

Well, in our winters we get -25, rarely -35 and this is C, not F ;) I have pushbutton GP, never used afterglow, just let truck idle more on those cold mornings (block heater is big help too). Sure, original card would be nice but my wire loom is very neatly cut and isolated, i dont have card...
