TN used to be like that, by county, but recently the State did away with that law so now there’s none. In NY they test everyone but I’m not sure if their cutoff.
Answered my own question:
Does my car have OBD II?
All 1996 and newer model year gasoline and alternate fuel passenger cars and trucks are required to have OBD II systems. All 1997 and newer model year diesel fueled passenger cars and trucks are also required to meet the OBD II requirements...
I know this is an old thread but your point about emissions testing is a good one.
does anyone know when this testing started nation wide? Aka- what year humvees would be exempt in all 50 states?
in 1998/1999 Cummins went to the VE pump on the 5.9 to comply with stricter emissions. I think...
How accurate is that tho with the serial numbers? Aren’t some in the 3’s still ECV? I was hoping to confirm by seeing some of the upgrades in the photos.
What’s the best way to identify a REV truck in pictures? The serial number isn’t 100% right?
it seems. That The transfer case is noticeably different, and the wire for the parking brake is eliminated - are those the REV.

Curious what people pay for shipping? I’m about 450 miles from the Albany Georgia location. I’d get it myself but I’d need to rent a trailer and can’t find a company locally.
Is it worth it to buy a seconds parts truck? Seems like enough of the non runners sell for under 5k and could save you that much on new parts.
but I guess what I’m wondering is… are the parts even worth it? In my experience junk yard parts or used often fail so fast buying new is worth the cost.

Half price of some other companies selling aftermarket doors.
I can’t imagine thy melted Home Depot pvc would be better……
I was watching that 46k truck and was quickly outbid. I was expecting it to sell more like these two from the week prior, with some extra budgeted for the doors.
why the big discrepancy? What am I missing??
Rather than make a new thread- does anyone know what carrier these are? The pics through the fence are humvees sitting at my local sheriffs lot, the other on the red hummer I found on Facebook. Look somewhat home made but similar swivel to the rhino carrier.
So silly question but, looking at the pics it would seem that if the angle of the radiator and oil cooler were increased, and slide to the rear a tad, it looks like they could have avoided the whole extended nose?? Am I off base here or does that seem right!?
Yes I understand the obvious differences in the trucks. I’m cool with an A2 or 1165. But people have scared me with the REV trucks being expensive for parts.
basically I need to find a good one and be prepared for repairs.
I’m an engineer by trade and have built my own house from scratch and...
I’ll try to respond to all of you: I guess honestly I don’t really know what to look for. I’m only considering runners with out missing gauges and stuff like that. Hopefully no blow by or leaks. Ones that look decent or rust free. I’ve been looking at the radiators to see if any fins are...
Just as the title say, what should I expect from a running and “complete” auction truck? I never considered the auctions because the prices have been so high these past few years but, they have really come down now.
How many minor problems to repair, missing things, etc. what’s the...
what exactly makes a REV more expensive to own? I assume you mean the maintenance? How do the REV trucks differ from the ECV trucks?
am I correct the ECVs trucks are the 285000 bins vrs 30000 and up?
I assume with those payload ratings the springs are stiff as ?!$&
I am trying to educate...
