This one was nice as well, 3616, 34K miles. I scored these 3 trucks for a good freind here in AZ that does not have a GL account. I know that GL is good at masking issues with their pictures, but these looked very good for the price.
After watching for as many years as I have, this looked...
Yep, I saw them. There were some very nice ones too. My favorite was 3665, 7K miles. Which ones did you score?
There were also some A2's that started life as gassers. Like 3643, 13K miles
We were right across from you guys. We had the 109 and tractor trailer that we were selling out of.
If you were at Papago, you must know about the AMVCC. We put the show on every year.
I may have a deuce for you. PM if interested.
I did a very long 2000 mile recovery to pick up my XM816 5 ton Wrecker a year and a half ago. I always shoot for about 500 miles a day and always get a good nights rest. It took four full days. 56 mph most of the way.
2000 miles in a 5 ton has to rank right up there for long recoveries...
AMGeneral has a great collection, I would think he's becoming quite the technical expert as well.
OK Mike, yah, yah TWO 5 Tons.
The air filters are on the passenger side fender of the M39 series diesel trucks (A1 Mack & A2 Multifuel). The Mack air filter does have a distinctive feature...

Our 1970 Kaiser XM813 w/w and our 1969 Kaiser, Mack ENDT Powered, M54A1C.
There are 4 sets of GL auction numbers on the M54A1C
I have a 69 with them as well. It also came with an Air-O-Matic. Truck is from the 116th in Idaho. I also have a 78 from the 116th that is virtually identical in almost every way (round top light guards).
Photo is from Barstow prior to trip home.
Alot of interest in 5 Ton Tractors with beds lately. Here's my M52A2 w/w with a dump bed. It also has troop seats. It was built here in AZ by a previous owner. It has a single ram which is not connected to anything (no pump). The tractor equipment is still installed and intact.
I'm making the...
Ed,
Image 10 is not a tractor, I can see the storage box under the driver. An M275 would have its fuel tank there.
It could be missing the rear fenders and deck and still be a tractor, but that box gives it away.
The M765A2 arrived today,. John at the Forestry Service threw in an extra tank with pump. And, it's full of diesel. The bed pockets took 45 minutes of pounding to get them up. It's missing a few parts but is in excellent overall condition. Engine is a 1D w/whistler.
It's missing the sheave...
