I've had good luck, bought from the photos only @ French Camp. I picked up an MEP006A a couple years ago. It's in like new condition. Runs like a top. 6 cyl Allis Chalmers Turbo Diesel. 60kw.
Hey guys,
Sure, no problem with the help on parts. I'll be doing an inventory of what's there once I see it. Chris, Chad, Jeff, I'll work with you on the parts that need to be examined and with any other help I can provide.
The recovery is going to be a challenge, I have no plans to drive...
Just won an M756A2 on a GSA Auction. Looks to be complete except for front winch. After speaking with the fellow on-site, it is also missing its intank fuel pump. He did say it had all of its equipment, "big chains & snatch block". The PTO is there for the front winch. It was on GSA (Thanks...
My 3 800 series trucks are all XM's.
XM816 w/w - 1970
XM813 w/w - 1970
XM818 w/w - 1969 (year yet to be confirmed, GL auction stated 1969)
While I can't answer whether 800's were used in Viet Nam, the build year of my trucks indicates they were available.
I do believe my M54A1C was in...
Brian,
Yep, the M54A1C is here in Phoenix. Overall it's in excellent condition. It does need some work, mostly cosmetic. Engine started on its own (with me pushing the starter button of course) when it was dropped off.
Jef, thanks for the offer. I will get in touch with you about it.
Hey Charles, can you bring those pictures to Thursday's meeting? I'd really like to see them. Can you post them here?
Jeff, I am planning on doing up my M52A2 as a sister truck to yours. I've obtained the correct yellow headlight and old style tail, blackout & front lights for it as well. Hopefully this spring I can get started. I'm leaning toward Desert Storm for the M54 with the inverted V on each side. Kind...
I flew up to Hill AFB to get my M109A3 a couple weeks ago. It started right up on the lot. 1 flat tire & 1 Broken Mirror frame. Called Mark Boyce, drove over to his old shop and they fixed me up quick. THANKS Boyce Equipment!! I got 2 new wiper blades from Boyce which I forgot to pack. 2nd day...
Hey, thanks guys. It is amazing how some of these jewels  are still trickling out. And given what Mike said about getting rid of Mack's in the 70's, it's even more amazing that ENDT's were still being rebuilt in 89. I don't know when the engine was actually installed.
Even though it...
My M54A1C's Mack engine has a rebuild plate from "89". I would assume that these made the trip over for Desert Storm. I'm wanting to paint it with markings from Desert Storm.
Can anyone confirm this?
One more question, when did the military start getting rid of the Mack's?
Thanks much!
Thanks guys, I haven't decided what color to paint it. It's not Strata Blue, it's some kind of gray, maybe battleship grey. I believe it's ex Army, could be wrong on that. It's got an Idaho Plate on the back??
Jimbo - Is there a story behind this truck? Please let me know what you're refering...
The M54A1C arrived from Hill AFB today. The original Data Plate shows it as a M54A1C. I pumped the primer pump on the IP and it fired right up. It's batteries seamed to be fully charged. It has just over 500 hrs on it after a 1975 overhaul. Engine purrs. Took it out for a quick spin and it drove...
