I finally finished the install of the winch onto my truck. It took about 8 hrs over 3 days and I got the cable on last night. The PTO was the hardest thing to install. And it works great. Here are some pics. They aren't step by step cause I got to excited after the first few steps to take more pics.
Welcome to the site. I will be getting stationed in Vegas in July next year. Hopefully there are others in that area and we can hang out and tell lies...I mean war stories:-D.
Well I ended up with the old boots tearing. So I used a small screwdriver to dig out the excess from under the lip on the PTO. To put the new ones in was prettyy easy until the end, I had to use a screwdriver to gently get the last bit of the part of the boot that goes under the lip under it. It...
The end of the boot that goes into the PTO has a lip on it and I can't get the old one out of the PTO, it keeps tearing apart. Is there something else that i am suppoed to loosen/take off to do this?
Don't have a camera right now, so no pics.
How in the world do you change the boots on the PTO? the end closest to the PTO will not budge is there something special i have to do to change them out?
Thanks
So I was draining all the fluid out of my new (to me) winch and found the right drain plug is stripped. How would I go about getting the @#$% thing out? Thanks.
I did some measurements today and the Penske auto trailers have 79in of uesable deck space and the M105 is 75/6in from tire sidewall to sidewall so I have a few inches to spare and I am going to load it on backwards (I have a pintle on the front of my duece that should help with that). And the...
I will be towing my M1009 behind the duece. Last time I moved I put the trailer in the bed but I need the extra space for household items and spare parts this time aound.
I am moving next year and am wondering if anybody here has put an M105 on a Penske/Uhaul car trailer or seen it done. Just trying to find out if it is feasable.
Thanks.
I actually am going to start putting a winch on my truck this week. The only bad thing is my incessant need for safety, so I had to go out and buy grade 8 bolts to replace all the ones on the extensions and bumper. But I can't wait to get it on, I know it is well worth it to have one.
Actually thats why I am asking. I am doing a DITY move (I've done a couple with the deuce) this one is substantially longer (2,000 Mi) and I want to make sure all the options and bases are covered/known/researched before the move itself. I am fairly confident that my deuce will make it, but...
So next year in June/July I am moving from Ft. Benning, GA to Las Vegas, NV. A friend of mine mentioned that instead of driving the deuce and towing the CUCV I might want to look into having it hauled/backhauled from here to there. (hauled to possibly Ventura, Ca, or Murrieta, CA instead of...
From what the description of vehicles it says it works with it is most likely 12v.
All the Auto parts suppliers I have been to so far have tried to give me 12v starters. But I am going to take back the 12v starter from one supplier my mechanic put in (still under warrenty) and see if they can...
I haven't taken it off the truck yet (thats tomorrows job) but I have a sneaky suspician that the mechanic that replaced it 3 months ago put a 12 volt starter in it, but I can't tell till it comes out.
I have a 1970 M35A2 that I have had for about 5 years I have had the current engine in for about 3. I changed the head gaskets about 2 yrs ago before I moved to GA.
When I first start and drive the truck the oil pressure needle is in the middle of the gauge. It stays there for about the first...
