This was purchased by the PO in 1995 when these were being released as de-mill items. It looks worse than it really is, at least that's what I keep telling myself. They had a prentice loader there and ripped the fenders off, tearing them off like paper, then crushed the dash and poked a few...
I purchased a M561 parts lot and manuals and would like to know if you would ID the parts in the photos. The last part looks like a tie rod end but no guts in it. A NOS center console with nice fresh rubber boots and data plates. Also an original -34P and a nice -20, and an original log...
5 or so years ago I aquired a 700R4 from a mid 80's 6.2 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy pu. I grabbed all the brackets and shift indicator for a complete kit. At the time my intention was to install it in my since sold M1031 shop truck. Funding and the extra work involved with the NP205 w/pto setup stalled...
The local Forestry asked me if I knew what other engine might swap in for a NHC 250? The cylinder sleeve corroded through and the rebuild cost was quite high. They have a special body on the truck and would rather swap in another engine.
Thanks
I have a bad u joint on the front left on the 882. Never had one of these hubs apart and curious how much of a job it is to get the axle out?, and perhaps a basic step by step how it comes apart.
Thanks
My BIL was running his oo3A during the ice storm here in Maine, it was running fine then all of a sudden went wide open. I think when that happened it also blew a ring on the no 2 piston as it's blowing oil. Anyway all the linkage is free and it did it while running at normal speed so I assume...
Need to replace the tie rod ends on my M882, there are two options listed, 3500lb axle or 4500lb axle so of course I would like to know which is the correct one? On a more exciting note the power steering is in!
Thanks
Mark
I have a power steering "kit" but I did not take it off so I am trying to figure out how the pump attaches to the front of the engine. If some one could post a good picture or two of the pump mounting that would be great.
In a previous thread I documented the install of a battery equalizer to replace the DUVAC system in my M1010. Well the equalizer lasted about 4 days and quit, of course it's a non repairable sealed unit. The equalizer was given to me so I was not too upset at it's failing, better home than on a...
When I picked up my ex-fire dept. M1010 the electrical was the usual mess with wires and switches all over. They could not figure out the drain on the batteries so they installed a switch on the 12v side and one on the 24v side. They also had a fairly large harness of wires running to...
I thought you might enjoy seeing my toasty glowplug control card, it looks like a burnt waffle. When I picked up my M1010 this week I had no wait light or glowplug action, after I got it home further inspection found this. The mechanic at the site said last time he moved it after he "jumped"...
My 86 M1009 snapped the crank a while back so I purchased a 1993 GMC mini bus with a 6.2 showing 92k mies. I drove it down the road a couple of miles and it ran well. So a year later I transplanted the bus engine and now have a question concerning the cooling system. I had the radiator shop...
The crank broke in half in my M1009 a year or so ago and I am just getting around to installing a 6.2 from a van. Well never thought about the engine mounts being different. Got the engine in and the mounts were way off so out came the engine. Of course I got rid of the old block so now I...
Now that my PRC-47 is up and running I need to torture myself further with another project. Looking for some help sourcing a GRC-9 to throw in my WWII MB jeep. If you know of one for sale I would appreciate the info.
Trying to help out the local forestry get their M1008 back up for fire season. Driver said when he went to start it during the glow plug cycle he heard a snap or pop bang etc and everything went dead. I went over and checked the battery voltage 26+ volts, same at the glowplug relay, have 13+...
I am repairing a few units just received by the forest service. The oil pressure, voltmeter and water temp gages are fluttering back and forth, not working at all or sometimes working. I have not taken the gage panel off yet but looking for advice on the problem such as a ground for the gage...
The linkage operating the dump body is giving problems. Fixed all the slop in the linkage up to the hoist control box. The problem is when the lever is moved the output side of the control box moves very little and won't move the linkage that goes to the pto far enough. Would like to know if...
Won the bid early January $815.00 then waited 40 days for the EUC. Picked it up with my lot of trailers at Dogheads in April. Purchased a gen trailer from Builder77's estate and restored it and had it ready for the generator. Sanded, primed and painted with carc in the 3 color camo pattern to...
