That is a prime example of the driver's lack of "energy" to get out of his comfortable cab and let some air out of the tires or chain ip the front. Log truckers up here do it all the time.
yes. I noticed that there are very few military vehicles for sale here. People have them, as there are 4 in my county population of 10K that I know of, but they don't sell them and parade them. I had to go 500+ miles to get mine.
Im in Idaho...we don't need no stinking paperwork......besides its got a Idaho license plate up front with current tags. they license a lot of stuff like that up here. My deuce is a "pick up" on my paperwork. BTW nice Rune. rare too.
yes it has a fifth wheel..looks to be 5 ton and I peeked under the front and it may have a turbo cummins with a allison. BIG tires too. Its nice to look at, but I really could have used a crane truck recently for my trusses, not a wrecker.
there is a piston on bid/sale at you know where for a LDS for 55$. Also, isn't the LDT and LDS piston/liner set exactly the same? I was under the impression the HP was gained elsewhere, than from the short block.
Yes. Ive worked mainly on the waukesha 7042 methane/NG engines. the waukesha engines are v12 7041 cubic inch with a 9.375 wish bore. we used the overhead crane to pull the pistons out. Some Cat and Cummins NG engines. All were stationary for either pump drive or enginators. So I don't have a...
yes, they should be close. BTW, I've never had a LDS or LDT engine apart, but plenty of diesels, NG and Methane (Waukesha 7042's) engines apart. So Im brainstorming on my experience with other engines. In fact, I cant recall seeing a solid wrist pin, but its been years ago. Others here that have...
I was doing a home inspection way up near the Canadian border on some remote ranch right on the Moyie River, and the owner had this......he said I could have it....for 10K.
Is there a hole drilled from the oil ring groove down to the wrist pin? thats how the wrist pin is lubed. Your old piston hole "could" be for cooling/oiling the wrist pin, but Id lean toward its there to remove excess oil from the oil rings. you need to check to make sure there is a passage...
I use plastigage too, BUT you still have to mic the journal to determine if its still within tolerance, so you don't assume all the clearance is in the bearing wear. BTW you used to have to plastigage the New bearing clearance too, so there wasn't any way to get out of buying some. Nowadays...
TIG weld it right on the spot. you don't even have to remove the bolt do do it, saving time having to rethread it. FWIW I was a 6GR certified pipe welder years ago.
