Could be several things. The first thing I would check is the Injector Pump Return Line check valve. It will surge if someone knocked the ball out to run it with a bad IP. Only takes a minute to check. If not that maybe a fuel dellivery problem to the IP.
Timntrucks, I am not familiar with the towbar you speak of. Could you post some pics of it. I have medium towbars. I wouldn't mind having something lighter as I only tow CUCVs, but don't want to use a lightweight 5000# bar. Thanks
If the towbar trip is more than 50 miles the rear driveshaft should be removed and front hubs placed in the unlock position. I usually give the front driveshaft a spin by hand to make sure the front hubs actually unlocked. They usually do, but I have had some stick.
Thats the way to do it stumps - Figure out what it is worth to you - bid that amount - if you get it for that or less - good you didn't over pay. If it goes for more than what it is worth to you - still good because you know you didn't over pay - someone else did.
I'm not sure if it's something you could repair yourself - I have a couple old pumps that are bad lying around that I am going to tear apart - Just never got around to it.
You should have removed the oil filler neck - rotated the engine by hand - and removed the three bolts on the IP drive gear (only one bolt is in the "window" at a time) The shaft should have come out with the IP
Does anyone have a Turbo Hydromatic 400 4X4 transmission to fit a CUCV for sale ? Prefer Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey, or Southern New York. Please let me know location, price, and condition. Thanks
Welcome to the site. I don't have much to add as far as the duece goes as I have CUCV's a M-37 and some trailers. Other members here are a wealth of knowledge on the subject though. Good luck.
I have a good connection for trailer parts. I will send a set of brake shoes (M101a2) with my father to see if they can match them up with replacements. I think he is going Thursday. I would like to know myself.
Made it home safe. It seemed like summer at GM72K10 's place and a winter wonderland when I made it home. Had to use 4WD to make the last 5 miles. The old Detroit locker kept wanting to kick me sideways pulling the big hill near my house. I stopped to lock in the hubs and could have ice...
I think there should be a new ordinance. If you don't like how something looks don't look at it. I live in the country. I can't see any neighbors from my place nor can they see me. I still get grief from my township. They just make up the rules as they go along. I got a letter this fall...
