    Mkt-90 kitchen trailer

The search function here is funky but if you type in that magnifying glass in the right corner, "mkt-90 kitchen trailer" and hit search, you'll get 5 pages of all kinds of titles including yours. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/search/4874799/?q=mkt-90+kitchen+trailer&o=date Online, using...

    G749 preservation

I did this last week but got distracted by a marine, sorry. What's the scoop? Here's the scoop. It's basically 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" base with 3 3/4" height off the hood. This one is 3 pieces with the top/angled/sloped piece requiring a 7" long x 5 1/4" rectangle to allow for a 6 1/2" slope with a...

    G749 preservation

Oh man you found that NATO number, thank you. I can usually hunt that info down but the search terms, they are a changing, to quote Bob Dillon. I'm sure Mattech still has a few of those Southwind heaters around and the topic is interesting enough we will likely gather a heater collection for...

That's the first thing I did was grab a hose and flex it when I heard......careful. They actually seem ok. Imagine sticking your hose in a box 50 or 60 years ago and pulling it out only to find it's not rotten. Good times.

I need to unpack some more so I'll grab a tape measure. They'd likely cost more to ship than the steel price so let's bend some metal.

cmpMAN we miss you around here. I ran that number on the boxes and came up dry but they did say 2 1/2 ton on the box. I was with a Mattech at that moment and didn't want to say anything about the military labeling things wrong. I think I found a third style maybe you've seen this type. What is...

    G749 preservation

The G749 Preservation continues. If someone is building a winch I still have 6 mid-shaft guards for the PTO but parts for winches are hard to find.

It's interesting that they put two different kinds of drain taps in them. Consistently inconsistent. Some random parts hunting pics, I did find some 'spare' G749 Gerry Can holders still in the boxes if somebody is doing a resto resto resto project.

We went heater nuts today. These heaters are a little different than the ones in the TM's above. The outlet is smaller and it's not like the picture. Maybe we can pull up the CDN TM version off the box numbers. The pics,

    Camo

That certainly shows how camo can be improved under the right conditions. A little taste of the color/line pattern showed up on a CDN M211 we had. The M37 was an original paint color trying to impersonate a Birch tree or mountain. The future of camo is going to be bizarre with screen/camera...

I ran that number and found it all. Thank you. https://archive.org/stream/TechnicalBulletinTb9-2855-43PersonnelHotWaterHeaterKit/TB_9-2855-43_heater_djvu.txt The pdf is right here ......... http://www.jatonkam35s.com/jatonkaM135-211sTMdownloadpage.htm and here ...

    G749 preservation

The days will start getting shorter soon so it's a good time to talk about heaters. Many of the CDN deuces had under dash heaters that are hard to find so we're always on the look out for this style. More recently a fantastic fella named Cliff was cleaning out his yard and passed along a...

I managed to grab a few pics at the end of the 2023 Stony Plain parade loading Veterans for a trip back to the Legion. https://stonyplainlegion.com/ This is one of the finest examples of a preserved Deuce out there. Here's an old 0-50mph run from inside. We finally have most of the...

    Distracted Driving

This video should get around fast. I was going to roast this driver for texting but that truck deck might look black just like the highway from the back. I don't see a second Red and Blue behind the truck or a big fl;ashing arrow on the roof so this may be the perfect storm for our education...

Deuce help needed in Mason Ohio!

I know that situation. You're new around here so welcome aboard and I'll just bet Ohio will chime in along with the 'we want pictures' committee. Is this the correct place? If so it looks like they work hard. https://mission-bbq.com/ Finding a heavy duty mechanic that can read the...

M998 STUCK IN THE MUD, FRONT WHEELS NOT EVEN ROTATING

It's just about getting order of operations correct. Get a track machine first, drive that in the swamp, keep the MV on dry ground and use it for rescue. We follow our trucks around with rescue gear and rarely hit the mud alone. Time for a team.

My Official Deuce to GMC Truck Build

Post war trucks and cars had some sass to them. I like it. 1947Chevy dot com had a side view cab pic and it's close. Real nice example of a 47 2 ton it just doesn't say GMC. https://1947chevy.com/ There aren't a lot of 47 GMC trucks out there so that's a good save. Here's a quick photoshop...

    Xm211. 6x6 non op?

Fill it, run it, drain it, fill it, run it, drain it, fill it, run it, drain it, fill it. Started to sound like a rap song. What a beautiful rig. Let's jump in and go do a 0-50mph run. I'd hope she just needs a good work over, a re-torque on every bolt, new fluids, check for cotter pins in the...

    NHC250 metal in oil

That's only you're 5th post so welcome aboard to the marvel mystery metal monitors of Steel Soldiers. Normally I wouldn't reply because I don't have your answer but you made me spit coffee so I had to say thank you. I expected to see different color shavings or some fine silver cream but when I...

    The danger of modifying trailers

I searched "tongue weight sweet spot" to better understand why the manufacturer data-plate had less than 10% tongue weight on your trailer. It was a big distraction and took hours to remember what I was supposed to be looking for.....maybe sweet spot was the wrong term. It was logical to...
