New early deuce owners in Oklahoma *Lucy*

In Canada in the 1950's we stored thousands of Deuces under the Civil Defence CD and later the Emergency Measures Organization EMO program. My intelligence Officer collector buddy said they'd see these brand new trucks on blocks and didn't understand why the couldn't touch them....until later...

    Fuel pump recommended.

We keep finding these external fuel pumps on the wrecks we recover. I'm sure they're just 24v fuel pumps. One problem I read was the draw through the old tank needs to be modified if you use an external pump. It was a post by Stan Leschart who found a problem when someone went external. Your...

Ya know when you're spreading gravel and you need that sprinkle of water soaking in just before you roll it. We got it and it was like a bucket of gold showing up over Goose. Thanks to A Ahab I can point out where the security skunk hangs out.

Ooops, We did it again, we moved a sea can and Goose jumped right in. The 1956 M135 can pull a sea can but I only did the easy work, grabbing one end and pulling it away from a hill. We were dragging the near empty can through damp sand about 300ft so I left the straight pull up to something...

    Canadian HLVW

Welcome aboard! You're in some very prime country for exploring and in good company too. The Windsor Ontario explorers just sent their photos from last weekend on the Canadian shield. Keep those pics of that fine truck coming.

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

I can weld like that if you need to match something for historical reasons. I use damp 1078 rods, don't clean the surface, put the ground a mile away and spray a little wd40 down first. This build has me eyeing every round cab I see so watching you aim for that crazy detail is inspiring. Sure...

It's one type of seal for our windows. You can take our glass class on Tuesday for a hamburger today right here. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/how-to-rust-proof-reseal-window-frames.80294/

Not a lot of time for pictures but this story needs to be preserved. We dragged a partially filled sea-can around with an M211. A little nudge with the bumper to slide it into place and Groot the 211 showed the beast side of these trucks.

    1952 GMC M135

A scoop fell out of a sea-can at a buddies so I grabbed you some numbers. It's real close to 6 1/2" x 5 1/4" with a 4" scoop. The flanges are 5/8" with one center hole at the back and side holes 1" down from the opening. Do you have a bender or should we look for a spare up here?

    1952 M135 W/Winch

608 was only two posts before your last one. Seems like yesterday. Gunfreak25 and I had different measurements for front window glass so If you have glass measurements it'll help with gauging glass setting tape. Who doesn't have an imperial tape measure when ya need one? Here's a start. The...

    1952 GMC M135

I found some pictures I took of the Flying Kitchen from Operation Morninglight. The box sides had some brackets welded on so that might tell us a story. This one isn't as nice as yours but some of the Kitchen is there. The pics of the Kitchen from the Ed Storey Collection are over here and the...

I had the best help from two little nephews cleaning spark plugs and making sure I didn't wreck torus bolts. I was surprised how the youngest piped up with " We better get a fire extinguisher ready", when I said we're going to hook up the fuel. It's just a procedure that happens any time a Jerry...

Hey Dash lovin' deuce drivers. What kind of Air Pressure gauge (gage) do you have in your dash? Who has a sending unit and wires going to the gauge instead of an air-line? I grabbed a spare gage panel off the shelf and the air pressure gauge has wires in the back. I read the book.....wires...

Following our Covid Response and Awareness Program, visitors to the G749 farm bring a thermometer and check their temperature when they arrive. Already prepaired in our MOBB 4, Bio-hazard level 3 PPE, a hands on diagnosis can begin. With any indication of high temperature we evaluate all the...

    Buzzer with volume control?

What happens if a guy is hearing impaired? I smell a change coming. Taking that power source for the buzzer to a big red light on the dash would sure be less annoying. Is there some kind of legislation that states it needs to be audible? If it is law then I'd suggest that needs to be changed...

This went like a breeze so thanks Keppy for an easy out. Piglet is worthy of a bath......she turns over. This might be Piglets first bath. Dropped the cover and grabbed a little 4 ton jack about 10" tall. It sat on top of the cross-over bar and spun up under a bolt. I thought about dropping...

No brake pedal pressure after bleeding brakes.

The M135 procedure was real easy so I'll share it in case it helps. The air side of the M135 brake system is drained before bleeding brakes so it's not bled under air pressure. The M135 brakes work even with all the air out of the system and air-paks are a week spot if not maintained. Hope you...

    Check your front wheel studs

Check your nuts! I did a winter tire swap recently following bolt-up pattern and torque on every wheel, I'm positive. I had to post because I lost a wheel nut by the time we hit the farm 40 miles away. Checking your studs at the same time you're swapping wheels out is just good advice...or at...

    G749 preservation

We took a day off for some leisure at the G749 farm. What do any adult collectors do when they have some spare time? Practice their skills. One jeep would go disappear in the trails.....and the rest of us would would try and find it. We call it 'disappear and find'......very skill testing...
