Welcome to the Steel Soldiers Trauma and Financial Yearly......SSTAFY. I miss southern California so bad I'm dropping the deuce budget and sticking it back in the "I wanna go see Midway again" fund. You're a lucky guy to be placed there with 12 months of cruising potential.
Does California beat...
I jumped on the first truck I found and spent $4000. Then I got patient and the next 8 found me for $1000 each. Keep doing what you're doing, knock down some more doors like those MVPA boys. Some guys keep trucks and don't advertise just waiting for a guy like you to come along to save another...
That would be a set-up we'd all like to see. I haven't done it but I'm told there's a check valve or flap inside the existing plumbing so hooking up an external pump takes a bit of work. The original internal pumps are a bit rare so if someone solved this with an external add on solution, you...
In an evening of brainstorming and Canada's favorite fire starter, Crown Royal, we decided that clean pea gravel and a hammock would do the trick. Glad we didn't think about jacking up a truck and tying the fuel tank to a wheel but that seems like a better sober idea.
We tied up the hammock...
The M20 guru up here used a square font so I'll check this week to see if we have the book with the turret details and follow-up accuracy.

I know how you boys like your ladies so I grabbed a pic of the fine little witch the troops brought along to soften the exercise. They had smoke generators, intense lighting set up in the bush, the officers dressed up in costume and the projector cycled scary pictures on the side of a sea-can...
Fall at the G749 farm
The adventure continues! It's good to be busy.....hey gents?
A Captain and a Warrant Officer walked into the G749 Farm......37 little Dragoons followed.
Under 60°F temps, the army cadets once again wheeled their training butts out to the farm for winter training this...
TC upgrade mod
I only have 2 in parts trucks and still think the Goat team has one apart on the ground so one way or another we'll get you set up. The e brake horns are broke on one of these but I know I saw several nos parts in Gizmo's new parts grab. If we don't find one out west you will be...
We should check with the Western Command boys and see if there is one closer to you first. Gizmo just bought SuperDave's supply so I can check if one is sitting on the ground Sunday. I have 3 donor trucks but don't see a window for me to remove one unless freeze up stays away until December...
I'd venture a guess that a guy gets real good at painting, living next to the ocean! Man I miss that place! There's nothing like Charlie don't Surf on Whiterock, Stanley Park, Fort Rodd Hill across the creek or that drive up the sea to sky highway. Visiting Stan in North Van is always a feast...
Early Deuce Transfer Case 2 speed mod
This is a great discussion piece for me. I watched a couple of buddies tear one apart, buy $800 in new bearings and it's still joyfully pushing his 52 deuce around. Lots to learn.
Here is a breakdown of parts and pieces we can all put together with a 2...
Everyday is a day closer to fixing the transmission.......but she's not done yet. Ironside cuts me a ton of slack with hauling costs so it's been easy, cheap and so cool seeing Goose do 70. I watch your video when I want to go for a long drive in a deuce! Work has been busy so we'll get at her...
Static Display
Goose had a hundred kids crawl over her on Saturday and a pile of friends showed up for open cockpit days at the Alberta Aviation Museum. Goose staged on Friday and got to hang out in the same area that thousands of WW11 aircraft visited.
Got a few more shots of the...
We're setting up around 930h and will be there until around 1600h. We could have a dozen MV mechanics on board so having your truck there would be fun for everyone.
These trucks were set up with radios and that could be the only thing 24volt was set up for. It'll be great getting a look at it...

The picture task is easy once you do it 954 times so that's the link on how to post pictures.
Welcome aboard the MV train neighbour. We have a static display this weekend, the 23rd.... at the Alberta Aviation...
I'd like to use the words "just take a hydroboost of an 80's GM 3 ton and plumb it in" but I'm on the learning curve too. Since all the brakes get fed from the air-pak, it complicates just tying a line into a hydro-boost and running it to the front end....unless it provides the required pressure...
Thanks for jumping in with the info trucknut. That bike is a show stopper when Claude does the penguin run to get it started. He'll likely be at the Red Deer show in August next year so book some time!
We found some time to let the trucks out to graze at the G749 farm. They've been penned up...
You didn't swap the carb but I see a new gas tank and dashboard. When the add attachment window comes up...and I click on the 'select files' box on the bottom, select a picture, I can watch the fuel gauge go up on the new panel!....... Fancy!
Have we told you lately how much we appreciate what...
Mass loading
I had trouble loading 10 pics at the same time so I load three, type a little, load three, type. 3 pics load fast, in 15 seconds or so, and I don't resize anything.
If I knew anything about computers I'd say the manifold that sucks in the pictures to resize them is stalling the...
1st Annual Prairie Motor Brigade in Red Deer Alberta
Only the bravest hockey fans go to Winnipeg in the winter. Keep us posted on your schedule.
It's so busy we didn't have time to build a shower to go in like they do at other rallies.
The trailer carried the jeeps 100 miles to Red Deer...
