TEE-HEE, sorry Kenny. :P You did get a $45 trailer off of GSA, so you are doing OK.
Here's some pics of the trailer in the daylight. I am pleased with it. From the looks of the undercarriage and the bottoms of the bedsides, it looks to have been 686A tan at some point. I will keep it...
Joe, contact Joseph aka Westfolk. He should be back home tonight from his trip to NC, I think. I believe he is going to W-P for something else in the next week.
Re: hmmm
I got it parked in the side yard with the 818 this morning. It sure is a lot easier to move one when you can just look through the rear window and see which way it's going. I hate backing them up with a cargo truck.
Yep, the cover was a surprise. I thought I saw something under...
Well, my M105A2 just arrived in the driveway behind Joseph's trusty deuce. Joseph and his helper just headed south to NC to pick up a M52A2. The SS supply train works great!! I have a spring seat for CGarbee and Kenny's winch just left with Joseph for Derby and 1stDeuce!
Thanks a bunch...
There is a small plate that is held on by one of the drum bolts. It covers an inspection hole that allows you to insert a feeler gauge at the L&R top and L&R bottom positions. There are adjustment cams top and bottom. I'm not sure about the specs for a M51A2. I'm sure it's covered in the TM.
I had the pleasure of tearing the left front down to replace the wheel cylinder last week and thought you guys might enjoy some pics and info.
The first PITA was getting the lug nuts off. I think the last technician used a 1" impact set on permanent to put the nuts on. I had to go to the...
The operators manual has a great picture of the dash and all of the stuff on it. I suggest you go to the download section and download it for future reference.
How did you bench test the pump? I have had mechanical pumps that seemed like everything was fine externally, but actually had a rotten baffle on the inside or a busted check valve. It should be pretty cheap at any local parts place. You might just go buy you a new one and put it on there...

Great! That's why this site is so handy. If you buy a truck and something is broken, chances are someone on here has already been through it and knows what to do. Welcome to the SS family Mike!!
I believe Memphis Equipment made some repair panels at one time. They ran up the A-pillar a little bit and then across the rocker. Seeing that there aren't any compound bends in the panel, you should be able to cut it out and weld in new as Barrman suggested. If you don't have access to a...
Thanks Craig! I have a plan for a new 939-series. We'll see how that works out. A lot of little pieces need to fall in place. I don't think it's going to happen in time for Aberdeen 2008. I know there will be at least three 939's there this year with you, Bruce Kubu and John Winslow. The...
I hear what you are saying armygreywolf. You guys are welcome to do it any way you want. I personally have not heard of any problems doing it with the turbo on the truck. I always make sure to get as many chips out as possible with grease or a magnet. My Cummins 5.9's ran for tens of...
Yes, I have drilled and tapped a manifold without removing the turbo. I did this on my 1995 Dodge Cummins. I did NOT do it with the truck running. I stuck a magnet down the hole to get most of the shavings. After that, I just started it and the shavings blew harmlessly past the pinwheel. Me...
