I measured the ID a couple weeks ago in order to try to find some tubing the same size but lost my notes. I remember it was right on a size, 4.250, 4.500 etc? Could someone who has one apart measure the ID with calipers ? If I can get the tubing I can part the ends off and tig them back on, it...
Sounds good like you have it covered, just plan on insulating everything you can and sealing up holes as it will need it in order to cool the cab. The dynamat and copies are great for noise reduction but do little for heat. I wanted to do the same with used evap but we have no junkyards left in...
Looking good, those parallel flow condensers really get rid of the heat! I have a winch so I could only use one 14" tall but I squeezed in 24" wide. If you have any questions about brackets let me know, I cannibalized some existing brackets as a starting point, kept one original alt belt and ran...
I'm not sure about the HET insulation helping with noise yet bc I've just done the drivers floor but I would suspect so. I can tell you that with using noico sound deadener on the inside of firewall, bottom side of cowl, bottom of trans tunnel covers, and the entire hardtop/back I got mid 80's...
I've been looking at this problem too and have been thinking the same Toby. I have ordered some of the 24v waterproof strip led's, wanting to wrap each gauge and tie them into the factory dash lights for power and still have the bright/dim settings. I'm not sure what to use yet but I also want...
Good news on the hyd head! Must have been moisture in the fuel that sat in the lines? On steel brake lines that get plugged with rust I use a piece of a old clutch or brake cable chucked in my drill like a roto rooter, BUT idk if that would leave behind trash that could damage the injectors in...
I got a used hard top from them months ago, the guy emailed me pics and was up front about the condition. They were happy to take my money immediately and I was told it would ship in a day or two, 3 weeks later it finally showed up, with about a 6" bow in the back section of the top due to how...
Also get the bow tie washer, the button falls off bc the plunger is sticky or stuck and fails to follow the camshaft AND bc the clip gets old and fatigued. If the plunger is stuck bad enough it breaks the bowtie washer, will be best to have it on hand, if not broken just put it in there anyway...
I got my drivers side floorboard insulation cut and fit into place. This is being done to compliment the new ac system. I drove it to town about 15 min after warming up, temps as follows
pass floor, no insul, no sound deadener = 110f
trans tunnel, no insul, sound deadener on bottom = 92f...
That thread is good, right on the money and easy to follow. I think he may also have a YouTube video? May as well get the viton o rings and a new clip.
Some pics from my a/c install, showing the two vintage air bracket pieces I used as a starting point which are the two front pieces that have the adjustment built into them. Also shows the rear mount I built that attaches the rear of the compressor to the cyl head. The RH headlight panel brace...
There are also manual valves with a cable attached so you can pull without getting under the truck. But being that far north you may need the heated valves.
