G749 Character
Tonight was all about the character.
I picked up the community league big cheese and his kid and hauled them to A&W for the Friday show....and what a show.
By the time we landed the kid said everyone has the same look on their face when we drive by.....I made him show me the...
Unimog
Would it be irony or coincidence that I went to a car show in my deuce tonight and saw a real nice Unimog?
Are you going to upgrade your membership so you can list it on Steel Soldiers in the classifieds here or can you find a sale for it locally?
My barn's a little full but I'm going...
Who said....with no corresponding decrease in crashes.........when the fines go up??????
Since the increase in fines around the May long weekend, we've had 75 fatalities in 75 days in our little province, very sad. No stat on the percentage of distracted driving incidents but I'm guessing the...
Lough Neagh was a pond me Great Great Grandpappy splashed in when he was a wee lad near Belfast. Welcome to Steel Soldiers from Canada with Irish blood. When you get a chance, Ive never seen a picture of an MV in Ireland.....and since you have all of them.....it's a great pleasure to have you on...
M211 fix
There is no cure for the Early Deuce Addiction...EDA. We just need to stand by his garage and show all the support we can until it passes. If he drinks more water they pass easier but he'll be lucky he doesn't need to pass another one immediately after the first.
Watch him carefully...
Sharing the G749
Quietly pulled the transmission dipstick and the oil is clean and full. So far, so good.
So it's off to the show with a few more pieces of Green in every pic. A few more Rat Rods showing up and representing the right color.
Can you spot the Gama Goat behind all the...
Your timing is great Nick, welcome aboard. Seano11 is talking about another trip south to gather more green things so it's time to do some shopping.
I sent you a private message PM with contact info so we can get you a fix tonight if you don't mind riding in 50's toys. If the skies stay blue...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers Marc. You're working on my favorite size MV....big. A quick search for "Larc for sale" netted a few hits so if you don't get the same results searching from your side of the pond, I'll dig more later tonight.
Here's a site that claims to have manuals and contains some...
M207
Bambi patrol came out to make sure we were working on the M207 at the G749 farm this weekend.
We also had a CCDMA visitor to the G749 farm and he has some photography experience. We're hoping to get some cool video clips together using the drone but for now here are a few where's Waldo...
M135 transmission
Not many car show pictures due to many distractions but I had to share the Renault Alpine that I've never seen.....and the Iltis.
Goose is still loosing less than a beer after sitting overnight and after another 100 miles, I dropped a litre of 30wt non-detergent in her...
It'll be good to have someone go shopping again so we can update what you find. One bite at a time and soon you're wheeling in a deuce and wondering what to buy next.
Master Cylinder
I did a quick search for ""M135 Master Cylinder"" and found a few sources so unless someone has an extra one...
The gas of a gasser
Does your MC bolt look anything like the early deuce MC bolt? There's nothing like a gasser so I'm hoping you get this on the road so we can hear it. Give up a picture of your MC and lets find you a cap!
G749 plug and wire cleaning
The M135 is down to dripping less than 1/4 of a litre, which is less than a beer's worth, overnight. It's no testimonial for Lucas yet because old Goose just got back from one of the best runs the big 6 ton truck ever had.....so we'll see how much it leaks...
M-20 Preservation Restoration
It's a lot of commitment starting a thread so I'm avoiding that by bumping a dead thread with a cool title.
This is an M-20 isn't it?
The work going into this M-20 was too nice not to ask the owner if I can share some photos on Steel Soldiers. I'll dig up the...
Lately, in the best interest of the trucks, I've been calling a winch, deck truck to carry them home. We had one truck that dislodged a push rod so test firing is ok but 'firing it up' and driving it would have caused more damage. MVPA SuperDave insisted on pulling the valve cover and making...
Slip side slopin' away
There is a little info in the CDN-OM9-819A Operators manual.....but nothing about side sloping. I haven't pushed mine enough to give a testimonial however I have heard stories about the G749 climbing mountains while towing British units behind them. We need some...
