They're aluminum from home depot- in their bulk metals section near the hardware. I think about 1" wide, or slightly less. You have to go slow when bending them because the aluminum will want to crack. I suppose you could heat it up with a torch. I just cut them to length, bent them in the...
I also prefer a long antenna, the longer the better. But, I also like to keep the antenna, not lose it to low branches and such. So I keep a few in the truck- long ones for when I need more reach out in the sticks, and the compact one for around town and in the dense forest.

1.5 is <2:1, no?
I have experienced that the antenna works, and I get good signal reports. 110 watts is helping I'm guessing. ;) It's also the only dual band 'transit' style antenna of which I'm aware.
I think 45° would hit the window.
The radials were inspired by the Compactenna, like this one which is the antenna that usually sits on top of the riser. They suggest radials at 70° which is pretty steep.
For the wire antenna I was using an inverted pan I picked up at walmart and painted. More of a flat ground plane.
AntennaClimber or Technoweenie are your SMEs, maybe a few others.
Here's mine. Would like to do a 10 meter radjo but haven't sourced the proper mil antenna yet.
Currently have two Orions, one VHF and the other UHF, and a dual-band antenna.
I found two seats in a wrecking yard, some kind of chevy van, and they raised me up about two inches. The front bolt holes lined up with the holes/nuplates in the floor too. I had to drill the rears though. The bonus was they adjust and recline.
The first pic shows the arm-rest removed...
That's a constant problem (no, not the consistent misspelling of brakes); people believe these trailers are meant to dump. I've seen people on craigslist mention it as a selling point, and received criticism from another trailer owner because my M1101 doesn't have the dump feature.
They're brake lights- not to pick on you, but the next guy that does a search for this issue will not find any results if he uses the correct spelling.
Explain what you started with as far as the wiring. You say someone unplugged everything under the trailer.... There is a junction about mid...
I washed the 09 his afternoon. The mold was so tough in some places the bristles on the tire scrub-brush couldn't dent it. I had to scrape it off with a plastic putty knife.
If the windows are fogging with that low humidity then you may have leaky window seals. I've found the best way to defog the side windows is with the vent windows slightly open.
My M1009 has the sliding rear windows and they leak, so the inside gets damp and the windows fog up. My short term...
Since it's an auction I'm not sure how prices can increase, unless the starting bid is too high. If the starting bid is reasonable, then the item will move according to market demand.
I expect there to be a lot of re-listed items in the beginning; items won by someone who, after adding their...
Check the alternator bracket and the power steering pump bracket for cracks. The alternator might work fine until it gets a load on it, and then the belt starts slipping.
Totally a longshot but who knows.
Mine was complete toast and I was considering removing all the remaining foam and just painting the steel (saw one that someone had done and it didn't look half bad), but found a NOS aftermarket one on craigslist. Guy had bought it for his blazer and stuck it up in the attic and it sat for...
I understand they weigh 142# each, so a bit less than 300# total is my guess. The wheels on the trailer now ride much smoother than the 37s that it came with.
