Anyone Know what Serial Number AMGeneral Assigned to the First Production M998?

Gee, might want to read one of the earlier posts. Better act quick before they shut down that thread. If it was a Army truck you probably can get the info by posting in this thread 2017 vin info thread. If it was from a different branch of the military that thread won't help .

need M123A1C year and birth records help please ?

Well folks CARNAC hasn't done this in years. I turned it all over to someone nicer than me and someone who doesn't have all the problems with drinking, womanizing, gambling, and womanizing. Even when I did it, the absolute #1 verboten thing to do was to PM CARNAC (and my relief nicer person...

should I bid on this one?

I'm always correct. I'm also always right, I never go left. Oh, and even when I wrong, I'm right. I knew you were thinking that; after all, I am CARNAC.

should I bid on this one?

Using my immense mind melding skills and from what I read on here, I foresee the answer will be a "No".

Pickup w/ trailer TX to Central MD

Folks will be driving from Corpus Christi back to central MD sometime around Dec 18th. Trailer is an enclosed 6 x 12 footer. Route depends a lot on the weather but they will definitely go through Knoxville to Bristol and then up I-81 to eastern panhandle of WV/central MD. If anyone wants...

Military identification painted on vehicle. Illegal or okay?

Let me reverse this, how the heck would you think they would keep you from putting them on your vehicle as long as it is legally registered and tagged? I owned two MV's in WV and they were tagged as antique. Tags were mounted, never, ever, ever had a problem. Drove them through about 30...

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

I got stopped in TX with the 24 ft trailer behind my F350. Guy came up and said he thought I was a hot shot. I said no, the stuff on the trailer was my own and I was on the way after I got some local info from him. That was the only recent time I've been stopped. Got stopped in the deuce...

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

Concur on that. I hate the fact you can't do traffic jam avoidance on the interstates in PA.

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

Take a reporter with you. I tend not to like reporters but this could very well turn into the Harvey Weinstein of the dot world.

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

So they're claiming legal reasons (with no real recourse to the out of stater) to take money from you. Sounds like thievery to me.

    New from Williamstown WV

I used to have Parkersburg, Marietta, and Watertown as well as Motown, Clarksburg, Kingwood, and Philippi as part of my sales territory. I was actually in Marietta when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. Somebody said something to me about it and I figured bad flying (after all planes...

Deuce crash in Winston-Salem, NC, 11/2017

A lot of folks focusing on registration and insurance but I would say the trifecta of what will sink this deuce driver is the added failure to inspect. Granted, most (if not all) states won't require an antique vehicle to be inspected but only if it was registered and operated in the status of...

    Do serial numbers ever change?

That is correct. You couldn't have it any other way. The Army property accountability system used since the early 2000's checks across the system for duplicates in serial number and registration number. This is Army and I won't speak to the other services.

    Do serial numbers ever change?

I could potentially see it in a remanufactured item. That would bring up questions on specific contract requirements that would definite require more research time than I would be interested in putting into it. The scenario from the op....I don't see it.

    Do serial numbers ever change?

Intentionally or unintentionally or by a supply sergeant/PBO that's in deep kimchi?

    WTH, Found a tank today.

Not sure why this is still posted. That vehicle is mine. I grew tired of it and decided to park it there since I can only drive one at a time. Only have a dozen in a dozen different states. Prefer the power to weight ratio of the M1A2 I got and that's my daily driver.

    Bought A Tank

That was supposed to be classified. I guess it doesn't matter. I hopped into the SR71 earlier this morning and flew home. The rest of the clan are loading onto my fleet of C5's and C17's to come back to the LZ tomorrow. They wanted to party it up another night especially after I said I'd pay...

    Bought A Tank

For that I probably will have to remove the run flats. I'd only hit 62 with them in. Anybody ever recovered one of these? I was thinking of using the wife's mini van as the toe vehicle. I only have about a 8 hr trip. Only place that would be a concern is having to go through Houston. I...

    Bought A Tank

Time to expand my fleet. Guess I will have to do so repair on this one. So what do you all think, should I put MRAP tires on it? Should I keep the run flats in or take them out? If I leave them in, I read in Hustler (that I only get for the articles) that if I take them out, I can gain a...

No longer need assisatnce near Winchester, VA

Just contacted Derek and he thinks he has a solution. If it doesn't work, he will let me know and I think I have plan b. If someone has c or d you may want to be ready. I'm sure he will post later but it appears the PA DOT doesn't like us moving stuff on our own. Looks like someone doesn't...
