Break-In oil for the low hour MEPS

Howdy, OK, they also might have access to Lister-Petter break-in oil. OCD about break-in? Any person which has rebuilt or has torn apart a engine will tell you that the beginning running of a engine is critical to its overall life. I guess the military spec for running break-in oil is just...

Break-In oil for the low hour MEPS

Howdy, Yes, the John Deere Break-In Plus oil is designed for engine break-in time. It is a oil which is packaged with additives for that purpose. Another method would be using straight 30wt non-detergent oil and adding some additives. The LetterKenny depot uses John Deere Break-In Plus when...

Acquired a Military surplus load bank

Howdy, Loaded MEP-803A with a surplus load bank. I warm the 803 up. I then start stepping through loads. 3kw, then 6kw, then 9 kw, then 12kw, then 12kw+3kw, then I start adding the variable load a little more than half way. Probably adding another 1.75kw to get it up to 133%. I then back off and...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Howdy, Let me convey some thinking. I myself would rather start with a known broken engine and do all the things I need to do.
