    Power Steering Pump Options?

So just for the heck of it I added some LubeGard ATF protectant in the power steering reservoir (its Dex III compatible and adds lubricity without affecting viscosity). I've read that others have had good success using it with power steering systems that use ATF. Anyway, it maybe slightly...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Point taken, but for context: I've done it twice ever outside of parades. It's a small town and many of the cops know me (I do work for local police and fire companies).

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

I don't do it often, usually only during parades. But when I do, no one is allowed in the turret/touching the gun, which is not loaded, and I'm complying with all state/local/federal laws.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Decided to mount up the dummy 50 cal (even though its not finished) and went to the beer distributor. Got quite the attention lol. Also took my son to the park for a bike ride. Edit: and made a new avatar!

    Help Identifying Noises on HMMWV

Thanks. When I originally got the truck (auction truck) it was low. I fixed a leak, topped off and bled the system using some generic dexron III. Do you think there is any benefit to swapping the fluid to something like Red Line D4 (which complies with Dexron III)? I figure using a higher...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

More 50 cal progress. This counts as hmmwv related right? I'm not building it to go on my Prius 🤣

    Paint - CARC

Yes, if you make enough phone calls you can get it. Just make sure you have a REALLY good respirator and know how to use it.

    Help Identifying Noises on HMMWV

Fyi, the power steering pump on my 2007 m1151 is a little on the loud side. Thats even after getting all the air out and making sure its not foaming. Not sure if thats normal but I'm thinking about swapping the fluid with some red line ATF which I've heard might quiet it down.

Same here, I realized the right latch is missing the mating piece and so it will never latch until thats replaced. Edit: info here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/doghouse-top-pin.174543/

Oil Pressure drops when coming to a stop

Yep, also many modern vehicles no longer have oil pressure gauges at all. I've also noticed lack of voltmeters in newer cars which I wish they would bring back.

    Gap with tire carrier.

I put washers on mine to make up the space, but not sure if thats the intended solution. In for answers.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I feel like if your truck needs aftermarket mods to stay at the correct operating temperature, there is something wrong that needs to be fixed.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Having had both, the first time I changed a serpantine belt I premptively disconnected the quick connect fitting first, which was a pain in the ass because it was stuck. Then I realized I didnt need to do that and was like you GOT to be kidding me!
