Howdy,
A quick video of a MEP-802A 3 phase Essex a427 load bank run.
starts out with a 3kw load with 9 amps per leg, then to 6kw load with 17.5 amps per leg, then to around 8kw load with 23 amps per leg.
Howdy,
Here is a visual collection of 3 phase MEP generator and Essex Electro a427 load bank connections.
The shorting link is stowed on side and not used in 3 phase.
The connection is changed to the lower mount for 3 phase.
The switch is then down on Low voltage select
Howdy,
Here is a visual collection of 1 phase MEP generator and Essex Electro a427 load bank connections.
I should point out that the copper shorting link (on load bank) is placed on terminals L1 + L2 + L3, your hots are then connected to L0 + a linked stud. and ground of course
The...
But, with the same respect. The week before I saw some prices shoot to the moon. I was surprised where the prices went. Double the price I thought it was worth. Its always a variable from week to week. It just really hurts to bid on a unit, and keep bumping it up waiting for it to break the...
Howdy,
The Essex Electro A427 load bank fully test 120v 1 ph, 120/240 1ph, 120/208 3ph, 240/416 3ph
Trust me, on 120/240 1ph, each switch puts a load equally over each wire. The fans are drawn off one side, so when I take a amp per leg reading, one side might be 40 amps and the other side is...
Howdy,
Yes it is. I wasn't sure if my dealer had any in stock. I asked for him to order some, and he had it in stock. :)
John Deere Break-In Plus Oil
I figured if the oil was sitting around that long after a few hours on it. The 802 only takes 3.2 quarts.
Break-In oil does not have the...
Howdy,
I wonder if the auction companies will get the idea that the reserves are way to high.
Point in fact= GL closed out almost all MEP-803A generators with only 4 making reserve, out of 40 lots across America.
Howdy,
OK,
My 802 had 14 original hours in it. 2007 model. I still wanted to change the oil. I put in break-in oil since it was still such a low hour unit. Something to think about.
Howdy,
Here is another method for charging 12v and 24v stuff
and if that rubber was rotted, then you might review this thread Fuel Return Improvements, before you put the top back on.
And you probably know all the MEP-803A Filters
Good luck with your 803
Howdy,
It is really tough finding cable sets surplus. I wanted a wire which I would only use with the load bank. I used 6awg stranded THHN wire for each run. Black, Red, White, and Green. I also got another Red for load banking 3 phase. I crimped copper battery lugs on one end which connects...

Howdy,
Some points of advice.
The convenience outlets are 10 amp max. You don't want to load up the genset thru there. When you start, slow down your roll from Prime & Run, you should pause there to ensure your unit is primed. Then when you do turn to start, you should pause there also until...
Howdy,
After many different filters out there, I lean towards the Napa/Wix filters. They are well made, have many models covered, and are easy to find.
