Armor armored headlight IR lens replacement

I have six of those single armored lights on my light bar. I replaced the incandescent bulbs with par36 LED bulbs. They each put out 1800lm and run from 10v to 30v. You have to trim the housing slightly to get the leds to fit but it's no big deal. Mark

    Slantback M1043A2

I heard that also about the air drop setup so it looks like both those other two uses are false. I found some pics of both rail and air drop and it seems definitive. Mark

    Slantback M1043A2

They were also used as tie-downs when the truck was shipped by rail. Mark

    Weare, NH MV show.

It depends on what day you are getting there. If you come up on Saturday get there early like 8am or before to get a good spot up front. Most of the camping sites are spoken for but you can alway park on the field if sleeping in the truck. It's always a great show and you can find some super...

    Weare, NH MV show.

I will be there early Saturday and hope we get more guys from SS to stop by. I sure hope the weather will be a little better and hope the trail is not a mud slide. That mud is like concrete and a real bitch to get off the trucks. Mark

M998: Loud Pop when trying to start

I concur. Start with the basics. I suspect you have a real problem with at least one battery. Those caps don't just "pop" off. Mark

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

An very old engine cleaner was to add a qt of kerosene to the oil with the engine cold then bring it up to temp and let it sit and repeat. Change the oil and filter. The kerosene will cut though and dislodge the sludge buildup and hopefully clear up any issues. It does help. Mark

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

Make one of those quarts of oil a quart of Marvel mystery oil as it can help get things unstuck. Mark

Humvee Engine Knocking (yes it's actual knocking, probably)

Pick up an inexpensive Stethoscope to help localize the knocking. A bad injector could be the culprit. I had picked up two nos injectors for 40 bucks shipped from flyaway just in case I may need them in the future. mark

Split boot for outer CV axle 10k success!

Never said this is a permanent fix for a broken boot. If a reg boot is good for 80k which seem to be the standard then even if I get half of that or even a quarter of that it would last me years. If it fails I will replace the shaft. Not trying to reinvent the wheel here as I was just looking...

Failed valve retainers and bent valve

You can pull the head but as many of us here think it won't be pretty. I would pull the head for the hell if it but start searching for a replacement engine. It happens. Mark

Split boot for outer CV axle 10k success!

With the engine ONLY at 3k rpms the CV shaft speed is around 1200 rpms. That is the only number I have been looking for. If you change the difs gear ratios the CV shaft speed will also change given the constant 3k engine rpm. The portal and the tire are after the fact as I was just looking at CV...
