803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Here it is. Took 2 days for me to upload over my phone at home. Still no outside connection. The video does not do the real ploop ploop ploop but you get the idea. https://youtu.be/taBVZHQ1uYQ

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

As posted above. Broken wire (what I suspected from the beginning). Broken "pull" wire repaired, solenoid pull function works. Not the batteries. Brand new. Tested for voltage. Carbon pile tested. Batteries are good. Genset charge system putting out 26v to the batteries.

Found MEP 803 Instrument cover door

No. It would be upside down.

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

I wanted to upload a video but I got hammerred by lightning yesterday. It took out my cable modem, both of my wireless routers, killed 5 voltage transformers, killed the TV, killed the surround sound system, killed my wifes work computer, a ceiling fan, and popped a single circuit breakers and...

I need one too......and the side door (starter side).

    I don't wear panties.....I go commando!

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Partial success. The fuel solenoid felay issue is solved by repairing the pull pin connection. I was able to save the pin and reconnect the wire. Now I bet my original is still good.... The engine does not sound right. There is no marble sound like in other diesels but there is a ploop...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Saw that the drawing is correct from the schematics I found in the TM. Found a broken wire at the 'pull' pin on J14. Due to the ties, it was held in the J14 so it looked connected. As soon as I cut a wire tie to get a better look at the wires, the center wire came out of the J14 with no pin...

Got them Got to K16 Pin 7 on the pull wire 183A now 183B after P6-37 -J6-38.......I think that is right. Enough for tonight.

How sure are you on the drawing? Could have sworn that 100D16 was the pull wire on pin 2.

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

The troubleshooting guide is of no help. It does not address the circuitry of the solenoid circuit. From the tm: 2-95 FUEL SOLENOID.2-95.1a.b.c.d.e.f.g.h.i.j.2-95.2a.b.c.d.Testing.Open left side engine access door and disconnect negative battery cable.Measure from fuel solenoid housing (17...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Nothing wrong with my batteries. They are brand new and crank the engine just fine. This is not a battery issue. From the tm: With the cranking relay energized, power passes from the batteries through closed contacts of the crank-ing relay to energize the solenoid and the pulling coil of...

    Hurricane Florence

Same here. Even though we can probably do a Cat 3 maybe a very weak Cat 4, we are outta here as well. Why take a chance.

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Thats the schematic I am using, which is a copy of the schematics on the door. If you look at the green circuit from the starter solenoid to fuel solenoid (circuled above) only the K16 is between the two terminals. Of course, it may cross 4 terminal boards, change wire number 3 times, and run...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Pulled K16 to make sure it was seated, which it was. Same issue......hold works, pull does not.

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

    Crank disconnect relay maybe?
  18. U

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

Already did. The wire harness is fine. The green start circuit energizes the pull condition on the solenoid. The blue run circuit energizes the hold condition on the solenoid. This means that the hold circuit blue is working but the pull circuit green is not. Thats a pretty simple circuit...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

This is not thr 70s. I am still not done yet. One of the original issues rear its head because it was never solved. The fuel solenoid still does not retract for the genset to run. Original solenoid started to fail by not retracting but if manually retracted, it will stay engaged. Usually a...

803 Bogs Down and dies at 85% Load

So I got it started today. Still having issues with the stop fuel solenoid. This is a new solenoid and it will not retract the lever but will hold the levrt in place if I push the rod to the full interior. Will have to trace the circuit and see if there is a voltage bleed on the lines...
