Yes even if bobbed, the 5 tons fall into over 20k weight category and full airbrakes require class A or B.
5 tons are nice and I love my m818 but if I purchase another truck, it will be a deuce. Welcome to California by the way and it's good to see people out here gettin the green fever!
fastnova- for sure next time we will do tug o war with the 5 tons, even if im still on 10 11.00 tires still haha.
my truck is having fuel issues again, and its either a pinhole in the fuel lines again or the leaking pt pump. time for some tlc on the 818!
i dont have a truck with air only brakes, and ive heard the term caging the brakes alot. what does it actually do? im guessing it releases the brakes? i know i should probably search it but i was just lookin for a quick answer to cure my curiosity. thanks
Just thought I'd share my trip to rasor rd for veterans weekend. Pretty Easy 150 miles each way. I did have my j pipe snap off of the muffler and the exhaust stack fell over onto the hood. Darn California potholes! I only snapped a couple pics because it was very windy.
The temp got down to...
Keep a flashlight mounted within reach for night driving, and when exiting remember the step out of the cab is a long one. I've stepped out at night and planted my foot on the edge of the step, slipping and face plant. I also have a bad habit of putting my foot in the crush zone of the drivers seat.
i just need some new rubber fuel lines, some inner and outter wheel seals, a bunch of grease, and free time.... then, and just maybe then i will make it to this meet fat lady sings
my 818 was doing similar things, and got worse over time. spent 2 hours going thru the rubber fuel lines, and found one with a pin hole. amazing how it runs so good now.
peppermint oil is still working wonders for me. everytime i park the truck, i open the cap and set the bottle on the floorboard as im getting out to open the air tank drain. EASY
