UPDATE: Well out of the clear blue I heard from them and I got a year long policy for $265.00, which I am very happy with. The policy coverage is excellent for what I paid and at this point I have to chalk up the small delay to the Holidays. Overall I am very pleased with Falcon Insurance and...
Raising an alert here; everyone who is insured with Falcon Insurance out of San Antonio needs to be aware; mine expired and I'm having some trouble getting results out of them; tomorrow will be the D Day. Will report back on my findings after I have a conversation with the agent tomorrow.
I went with Jatonka and never looked back. Pretty close to instant oil pressure. And that's after it sits in my yard for weeks at a time without a fire up.
Just as a last note, bypassing the FDC will not always prevent diesel from getting into the sump. It can also leak from the injector pump itself. Hope this has not happened, as the cure is somewhat costly in the form of a rebuild on your IP.
O.K., I went out and climbed up on it. Pulled dipstick. It measures exactly 27 inches from the tip of the dipstick to the bottom of the little 'bell' where the threads start. At 24 and 3/4 inches, (measured from the tip), there is on my dipstick a brazed portion, which sounds just like yours...
I've read this entire thread and I might be in; leaving El Paso to go ANYWHERE is like leaving Hawaii to go somewhere. I'm wondering, can I pull my M1061A1 trailer with this overdrive with a full load (about 8,000.00 lbs) of firewood on the trailer. Pump is turned up. Hard question, I know...
All I want to do is get some decent radials I can mount on the stock rims; getting "other" types of rims here in El Paso is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, and when you do, the needle is bent and rusted.
I was pulling what's left of my hair out with electical problems, and decided to go the easy way and replaced the military batteries with 94R Maxx start batteries from Wally world and voila! It starts like a champion. Moral of the story, suspect the batteries.
Have read all the posts, done my homework, and I feel like I'm on the set of LOST; question posed is "what are the biggest steel belted tires I can run on the stock rims". My current nylon NDT's are being chewed up royally on my rocky ranch road.
If you are enthralled with these vehicles as most of us are on this site, then bite. They pull; they generally don't get stuck (if you keep up the momentup); and they are OVER engineered, contrary to present day trucks and automobiles. Don't ask me how I know about the present day vehicles...
If it is an engine fuel related problem, I highly recommend DieselInjection of Corpus. They are somewhat expensive, but they stick to their quote and they get it done right.
If you're talking about the cylindrical thing under the metal cover on the passenger side of the engine, that would be the flame heater, used for cold start conditions. Utterly worthless to you if the truck is not going to venture much outside Corpus.
I second Heavy Steven: running these...
Is this the solenoid on the starter, or the one above the starter bolted to the block. (I may be confused on the terminology somewhat). The actual starter motor has what I would call a solenoid actuator on top of it. Is this where the copper plate is?
Had the No-See-Ums, too. Mosquitoes and the gnats! The remnants of hurricane Alex traveled up into southwest Texas (the trans pecos region) and dumped over a foot of rain over most parts on July 4th weekend. The resultant insect explosion was something to behold. At night, outside, I use a...
I worked on my Deuce most of the weekend at a 'remote location' here in Texas and we've had lots of rain. The thing that made it miserable was not the sun, the heat or the humidity; it was the bugs. Lots of 'em. So......don't forget camp fogger.
Been reading everything I can find on hard starting, as my deuce has following symptoms: I go to start and when I hit the red button, it turns maybe one fourth of a cranshaft revolution and stops. I hit it a second, usually a third time and it finally spins fast and fires over. I went over all...
