Hello,
I know that this has been covered in another post with detailed pictures located here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/ambac-m-50-rebuild-w-pics-mep-003a.183913/#lg=post-2181690&slide=2 But........
I am having issues getting my injection pump apart on step 4 in the thread linked...
I haven't read the TM's for this generator yet. Thanks for your response and explanation of how those fuel pumps operate. It just sounded odd switching between the AUX pump which sounded like a normal fuel pump to me with the humming noise the switching to the main pumps with the relay clicking...
So on my MEP-002a generator I am turning the start switch to "Prime Run AUX" and I get a normal sound of a fuel pump running. When I switch it to the next clockwise position of "Prime Run" I don't hear a fuel pump running and I hear what sounds like a relay clicking? I am trying to figure out...
I didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying. Where would the other installation position be if they aren't installed in the air intake?
Nevermind, I found it in the cylinder head drawing.
Is there anyway to reference the articles linked in Post #1 of this thread again? When I click on the links it seems like the website has deleted the thread due to old content or something. I believe this is very good information contained in here as I have recently bought 2 MEP-002a generators...
Attached is the picture of the box. They are that part number so I assume they will work. This is the part number that they had in the TM that I looked at. I just didn't know if they made a 12v and a 24v version or if maybe they were 12v in series to create the 24v?
I bought some off the big auction site with this same exact part number and noticed that they say 12v on the box after I ordered it. Will it work in the 24v system?
The Plug does have pins in it, I didn't think about that. Can't they be swapped around? I think I remembered a thread where someone on this site said they could because they had the same issue with their plug.
More than likely a few days other than if I find myself on vacation somewhere for a week or two.
Another quick question that I'm sure has been covered here extensively before but what are some good parts to have on hand other than the obvious oil and fuel filters, and serpentine belt? I know...
That makes a lot of sense. I guess I never really thought about it that way because I knew I would be there if something went wrong. I got tunnel vision on what if this happens when I'm gone but you're right. Nothing is going to be on that the MEP-802a can't handle while I'm away. I have a...
I should have probably just installed the 60 amp SCAME plug from the start instead of the 30amp. I was thinking that they had to be sized for the generator but what you said makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
Thanks Coug! I will give PSP Products a call today so that I can inquire about their 100 amp load shed box and it's capabilities.
I would like to eventually get a MEP-803a also. I would like to have two separate plugs mounted under my Kohler ATS. The one that is currently mounted there and...
Thanks again for the great ideas, I will certainly be looking into purchasing both of your recommendations.
One question I have is for a 60 amp connector, should I use 4/4 SOOW cord? The run will only be about 15 feet long.
I used 6/4 SOOW cord on my 30 amp connector with 30 feet of wire. Any...
Do I need something listed on this site ( http://www.pspproducts.net/GeneratorCatalog.pdf / http://www.pspproducts.net/GeneratorCatalogV3.pdf ) for the load shed panel or is there a better option? I will be talking to my electrician this evening so hopefully we can both get this figured out.
100% Genius on the creative way to get notified if there is a power outage! I have seen you mention this before in another thread I was reading a few days ago. I really like that idea but I didn't realize that the software was free to do this. Just need to purchase a surge protector / backup...
That was my main reason for selecting the MEP-802a over the MEP-803a. I didn't think that my house would pull enough of a load under normal conditions to keep an 803a in the 50% range.
