Tying all my recent experiences together on the build thread...
We went to UT & AZ for a lovely trip:

We had an issue...
Funny you mention this... They are the identical parts. Found this out from the CAT guy I chatted with in UT. Same unit as in the DT466 Navistar motor.
Well, it's one of those times where the troubleshooting process makes sense- the pressure wasn't being properly controlled, so I replaced the valve which controls it and BINGO- all back in spec!!!!

This is the CAT ET diagnostic test for the injection...
A little footage from House Rock Valley Road:
Not very dramatic and full disclosure, plenty of rental cars go up and down this road, but they don't get to sleep in a king size bed on the trail.
Anyone have any experience with this?
I have a 2000 M1088A1. The CEL light came on the other day and with CAT ET hooked up, it showed code 164-11 and/or 164-2. Looking them up reveals a somewhat generic trigger of mismatch between desired and actual injection activation pressure on the HEUI...
We're back a little earlier than intended. There were a couple of things which contributed to this.
I had an injection actuation pressure code & CEL prior to leaving which I thought I had addressed. The truck ran flawlessly and felt great all the way down and into the backcountry. We had our...
I have one or two things to wrap up, but if all goes as expected, we will be heading out in our rig on Weds to southern UT/northern AZ for a week in the wilds. After a handful of shakedowns, this will be our first real trip. Our route will be I-84 through Baker City, Boise, etc... to I-15 and...
FYI - Had a similar issue but... It ended up being one of the wires had backed out of the Packard connector when I was swapping out a sending unit. Check that connector's integrity if the issue re-surfaces.
FYI - It quickly became annoying for me. I have a bolt in panel with the opening cut out which bolts into a slightly larger opening. I found the metal spine inside the attaching edges will work its way out of the rubber with repeated removal and reinstalls. The bolt in panel was an easy...
There are also graphite lubes which have it (graphite) suspended in solution. The solution carries it into the sheathing but then will evaporate so dirt, etc... does not stick to cable and compound the problem, but it leaves the graphite behind to provide the glide. I know you can find it at...

After getting just about everything working in the camper, the wife, dog, and I headed out into the Gorge last week for a few nights out in the cold as a shakedown for a much bigger trip in Feb. Things started off extremely well, including finding some sunshine and some interesting scenery...
I've had it for so long to do the swap that I honestly forget how I landed on it. I want to say that it was a recommendation from someone on here but I can't place it right now. They seem to be the OTR standard and widely available, and it's working well for me so far. It doesn't seem to be...
Have crossed a number of things off my list recently-
New AD-9 dryer:
Installed fresh water tank level gauge:
(powers up when I turn illuminated switch on)
The 120 side of panel has been validated. I have been running through the Victron now, pulling 120 through the inverter to run tools...
Ugh. Found it!
The back end of the Packard connector at the sender had corroded/disconnected. Didn't need to chase it much further than the plug. Replaced the connector with something made this century and all is good now. Updating this thread so the next person doesn't feel as stupid as I...
No need... Just take a closer look at the reduction units in each hub. There are 3 main components for the reduction gearset:
The outer bevel gear attached to the spinning axle
The "spider" gears on the cross
The inner bevel gear rigidly attached to the axle housing.
If you lock the outer...
