it's been years but Coleman Surplus up in Millersburg,PA had some of those forklifts for sale. They weren't too outragous either. Got to go for a ride on one while I was there 8). I have very limited use for one (not like that's ever stopped us from buying an MV ) and they really aren't...
Oohh. From the way you worded it, I thought "words were exchanged". If you have your heart set on a G741, then you may want to have a look at the "swap meet forum" over on www.g741.org . There's always an M37 (or variant) for sale over there...
What did you do?!! :p:wink:
Capt. Marion
Thanks for shedding some light on that. Thought the M56 was the "command" variant not the cab & chassis. There were also some trucks with a longer wheel base (124" ?) Those might have been the contact maintenance...
Using the M1008 for this? Do you have the troop seats in the bed? How about hanging some gear off of the seat backs? -Or paint that large black chevron on the door like the trucks used in the first Gulf War had? If there are other MVs in the parade maybe your CUCV could be placed somewhere in...
Sorry to hear that, Man but it happens. Look on the bright side, now you can save up a little more money, arm your self with knowledge and when the right MV comes along, you'll be able to jump on it, & know what to look for. I cut my MV teath on Dodges so I've always been partial to them. They...
Honestly how I Itell is I look for where it is embossed on the block. My WC51 had the engine out of it's big brother, the WC62 (T-223). I think the T215 was used in the 1/2 tons but am not 100% sure about that. As for fitting a diesel engine, here's some links for you;
1953 Dodge M37...
That isn't a WC51. It's a 50's/60's Dodge M37. The WC's replacement. Had a similar (almost identical) engine in it to the WC51, 230 flat head 6 cylinder T-245. 4sp gear box & the added advantage of a 2sp T-case. gearing was 5:83 They were a heavy truck at roughly 5700 lbs. It will be a little...
I guess it would depend on what your ultimate intentions are. If you plan to "repower" it with a powerpack other then original then the condition of the drive line isn't as important as if you were going to put it back as original as possible.
Commonly missing & some...
Never noticed the holes in the wheels on the FV432s but on some of the British WWII stuff it does look kind of cool. Think it was done to aid suspension-oops my bad, I meant the tires not the actual wheel rim..
How fast will that XM474 go, Justin...

First off, welcome to the site! Secondly no, backfiring is not common to the G838 series of jeeps. Wonder if your fuel mixture is too rich?
Matt
Just found this over on www.g838.org thought it might be of help...
If you stand on the front bumper or in the bed of the mutt and jump up & down (once) and the vehicle continues to bounce up & down, it's the shocks that are shot.
The first G838 that I owned was an unrestored/running M151A1. I had never owned/ driven or riden in...
From what I was told, The depts also didn't like the feds coming in and eye ball'n everything else in the armory.
Here's some MV content: It's not only boomsticks that these depts are dumping, it's also vehicles. The local Sheriff's office got rid of their peacekeeper Not...
A lot of the local PDs around here have been returing the M16A2s they got from Unc. Sugar back in the 90s and are buying civilian M4 clones. From what I was told, the depts don't want the hassel associated with owning (Fed) gov't property that is on loan to them. The compliance checks are...
That looks real good. Welcome to the wonderful world of mutt ownership! If I look past my computer monitor I can see my A2 parked in the backyard. A good place (aside from here;)) for all things M151 is www.g838.org Most of the guys who post over there are also members here as well...
As Papabear posted, the VaDMV will have the answers for you. It's been a couple of years since my last encounter with them but from what a former DMV agent told me, they're starting to close all those loop holes in the code that allowd people to come in with only a hand written bill of sale and...
