    My opinion

Our moderators do a great job keeping this site on target and focusing the conversation. If we didn't have the mods shutting down certain threads, then topics would get way off in the deep end. Also we don't need the politics being injected on a Military Vehicle site, because that creates a...

    Th400?

My 86 doesn't have a drain plug. The HD should be on the passenger side of the bellhousing and is in fairly large letters if you want to feel for it. You should be able to see it in this picture. Depending on which modulator you have, you can make adjustments on it directly. If it's...

    Th400?

Not 100% sure, but I think all the Diesels have the Heavy Duty case. On the top of the bell housing it will have HD stamped in it. Have you replaced the regulator and have your replaced all the vacuum lines. Also make sure the vacuum pump is actually working.

Spoke to GP about the new SF-97 for HMMWVs

Thanks Blackmagic94 for posting the information that you got directly from GP. [thumbzup] It is good that they are giving SF97s out, that way you can get something official saying you own it. That's better for everyone in the long run, in case of theft. Thought I'd add one part in support of...

Are parts of the future MV hobby dying?

The focus of this thread is the future of our hobby. Not what we want to have, but what we do have and how we might lose the ability to keep what we have now. Everyone is entitled to what they think we should or shouldn't have. But that's not the purpose here. The main purpose, now I say main...

Chaplain that was great. I really like how you worded that and keep it politic free!

Are parts of the future MV hobby dying?

Okay, so something I just saw on the news today got me thinking about this thread again. They were discussing the guy in Dallas who use an armored van to shoot at the police. While this is a horrific incident that doesn't directly relate to our hobby, the news brought us in to the national...

    Germany's U-534 U-Boat's Story, Recovery and Display - 39 photos

That was a great read. Just glad that someone decided to recover and save it. That is a piece of history that was literally fading (rusting) away with time.

    Steel Soldiers Facebook Group

A book with faces? I don't understand. Guess I'm one of the few left that doesn't do facebook. Question, is there any cross over with the facebook to the app and site, or is it completely separate? I'm guessing separate, but not sure so figured I'd ask.

    M151a2; which brake fluid?

It's suppose to be DOT 5 from the military. If your not sure what is already in it, you can pull a sample out and stick it in some fresh DOT 3 and then some into some fresh DOT 5. They don't mix so you should be able to notice which one it is. If it shows that you have DOT 3 already in the...

    CUCV Desert Restoration Wheel Color

Drock, that is correct. During Desert Storm many of the trucks were painted after they got to Kuwait. There were temporary paint booths set up so the truck could be pulled in, taped off, and shot. My contact truck was painted tan by the military and they didn't even move the chains or latches...

    CUCV Desert Restoration Wheel Color

Most of the pictures show the wheels being painted tan as well. But with the limited number of photos we do have, I wouldn't say they all were tan. I painted my Desert Storm M1009 wheels semi gloss black, but my contact truck has tan wheels. If you really wanted to get people intrigued, pain...
