    Hurricane season

Ran mine on the house for two hours after replacing the fuel lines. Good to go. Need to review the procedure with the wife.

    Electrician run around

Wait? You need at least a couple test runs to ensure SOP is clear and concise, and the wife know's how to operate all switches and levers... I did create an SOP with pictures to explain step by step what to do.

    Electrician run around

I had an 8kw that would run everything except the AC. Then Hermine hit in the summer. She said "I don't care what it cost, or if it will run nothing other than the AC..." Now the 803 runs everything AND the AC :-D She's happy.

    Power Plant Wiring

The switch box on my power plant was hard wired from the generator outputs, with output lugs for the powered connection. I still have the box, though I'm not sure what I'll ever do with it.

Just let me know when you want to stop by. I’ve got around 50 rivnuts left, you are welcome to use them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My MEP-803a experience

I tackled this last night. Soup to nuts, took about 3 hours. My 803 is a 2000 non-reset unit, so most of the nuts are not caged. I went ahead and installed rivnuts, which led to a little extra work that is not necessary to complete the fuel line repair. Here is some of what I did: 1. remove all...

    MEP-802/803 fuel return improvements

I did read up on the subject and zinc plated bolts are recommended compared to stainless. Though I'm planning to go back with the anti-seize. https://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/blog/2017/09/15/stainless-steel-and-aluminum/

    MEP-802/803 fuel return improvements

I am about to tackle this and was going to replace all the nuts with rivnuts, but I can't seem to find a 10-32 rivnut setter that isn't rated as garbage. A lot of the astro pneumatics come with 10-24, but that leaves me with different pitch bolts on the same machine, which I am certain will...

    MEP report post Hurricane Michael

Ran my 803 for right at 100 hours. The fuel return line decided to take the opportunity to start leaking, but it wasn't really bad till the end. I estimate that I burned 55-70 gallons in that time. I wasn't topped off when I started, and I've only put 55 gallons back in, so really not sure on...

    My MEP-803a experience

Power is out again, which allowed me to confirm that the return line is leaking. A steady drip now. Glad that I built in the secondary feed for the backup-backup generator. Picking up hose tomorrow. How much of the 1/8 and 1/4 did you need?

MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

Will you have an open API for interfacing with other systems, i.e. solar/battery to initiate on demand starts?

    My MEP-803a experience

I can confirm that my automatic disconnect does work. I've got materials enough to make 2 more if anyone is interested. We were in the path of hurricane Michael and I just finished running the generator for 100 hours with only one break of 2 hours in the middle. It performed flawlessly, never...

    MEP-803A sipping fuel.

Just got power back at 21:00 Sunday, so we were running for roughly 100 hours. I did not have my tank full, and I just added another 55 gallons this afternoon, so I'm guessing we burned about 70 gallons. We had the AC running pretty much the whole time, I didn't turn off any circuits, adjust...

    MEP-803A sipping fuel.

Still no power on the street. I did see crews working the mainline that feeds our street, but there is still one pole down on our street and a tree across the line going to my house. 803 has been running non-stop since 2pm wednesday. I was greeted by a wet stand last night, so I've got a...

    MEP-803A sipping fuel.

100 gallon minimum for delivery from our local diesel distributor. They do have off road diesel, but she was unable to tell me what the price is at this time. They are focusing on EMS and power trucks for now. I'll probably just take my 55 gallon drum and find the closest off road diesel pump.

    MEP-803A sipping fuel.

Mine has been running since 14:00 wednesday without issue. Running on the 100 gallon auxiliary, I checked the tank last night and I had about 70 gallons left, but it wasn't topped off before the storm either. Fuel gauge hasn't moved off of half full. I had been thinking that I could out the...
