Good post...... except the part about having the track barn find coming to you, usually it takes years of beating the bushes. Lucky bastage......[thumbzup]
18K behind a 3/4 ton? That's not something I would be proud of or brag about.
You will find that your insurance carrier will abandon you when you wreck and kill someone.
Gross weight of an M-3 is 17,650. Add the weight of a trailer and you are towing ~20K.
M9A1 is heavier at a gross weight...
Emptyhead,
I maintain big ZTR lawn equipment and also own a half track.
They are a long way from a mower when you consider the tools and support equipment required to work on them. Think semi tractor. 10 tons.
Moving them is the hardest part of owning IMO. You need to do it safely and...
No one, that I'm aware of but I know of many that enjoy their truck and use it as is until it can be improved upon.
After all, it is part of it's history and heritage.
That's where we differ.
I will be using, having fun and enjoying this truck while you are busy arguing about some TM...
I have my first CCKW coming from out East in a couple weeks.
A '44 353-A2 with a post war steel bed.
Complete troop seats, racks and bows. Full canvas cab and cargo.

Fresh engine that needs installing and all the usually missing trinkets on truck are intact.
Needs a...

Autocar U7144T and White 444T's were classed as 4-5 ton, the Autocar U8144T was classed as a 5-6 ton.

Maybe this forum title is too similar to the one that these should actually be posted in, which is "5 Ton and up?"
How about making it " Autocar, Ward LaFrance, Federal and other early...

Zat you Wendell?
<<<<<< OK, there's one right there.......
Sure, I'll go stick them...
I saw "site improvement" and "website help." Didn't seem to fit either.
And unless it's from someone who can actually do something, like a Mod......
I really wasn't looking for conversation, thoughts or opinions in the matter.
That just causes useless stirring right?
Just wondering why so many of the posts in this forum are about M-series trucks?
Isn't this one suppose to be for the WWI & II 5 Ton and Larger?
Why aren't they in the Post Viet Nam/ Desert Storm Forum?
Bet if I started up over there with some 1945 WLF truck stuff I'd get corrected fairly...
FF
That must be a fairly new site.
I found it a couple days ago and then saw your post today.
Waiting on a reply from them.
Can you get any other parts for the 303?
I need some miscellaneous interior and dash items and a few wheel studs and lug nuts.
I'm also interested in your kingpin...
