i concur. since we've gone to AOAP system (years ago) we don't track hours. the AOAP report provides the direction on when an engine needs replaced. the motor pool still tracks mileage on dispatches, but it doesn't affect maintenance intervals.
the only thing that affects the maintenance...
you can get lift springs made. i have 6" lift springs in the front and 6" blocks welded onto the rear. the front rides great and the rear is firmly planted with zero axle wrap.
cavemantrucks provided the springs from a local spring shop.
i have two headlights that i took off my truck (A2) that are no longer needed - should be the same? just haven't gotten around to putting together classifieds of all this stuff.
i'm on the wrong coast, but...
whew...!!
i was worried for a second - not because of the bobbing but because of the 'selling' part. i guess the Cat truck would be cool bobbed, but i'm sure it's pretty sweet as it is right now.
plenty of time for that later.
i think that's high... 75 miles isn't really enough distance to make it worth the hauler's time, hence the high rate.
i bet you could beat the pants off that rate for longer distances.
ship it. to truely be prepared for a truely unknown condition truck that you don't have any knowledge or experience in getting it road worthy, it'll cost you almost as much in batteries, fluids, belts, and odd-ball spare parts as the shipping cost.
then, when you get it home (via shipper) you...
i see this comment or similar often around here. i understand that these trucks can be had for dirt-cheap. but that doesn't mean that other equipment will be (or even should be) as relatively inexpensive. it's not logical to compare a piece of equipment from another industry to the cost of your...
i've still got an engine, trans, radiator, and misc parts to sell off. conservatively, once i sell these parts off i'll be into the swap portion of the project for about $4k.
i have almost every dollar accounted for on a spreadsheet (except for the odds and ends spent during the swap week.... that was a crazy week.). lemme check it out and get back with you.
got some Hellas coming to put in the grill and mounting the headlights next to the signals. you know...
i've seen them here, but mostly on ebay. not quite as desireable when there is no PTO and linkage to go with.
shipping can be tough - i forgot to consider that.
math. use the intended hydraulic pump and motor specs, winch ratio, desired line pull, and a couple hydraulic effeciencies to calculate the required pressure of the system. then set the pressure relief valve to this pressure via guage and you're done - the system will 'release' at the...
