No broken shifter experience with M37s, but I have seen it on other trucks and I just finished modifying one to put into my old Bronco.
Just take it to a good welder and have him stick it back together. The only critical part is keeping that round top shaped correctly.
If you are having...
Those banjo bolts take some serious torque. Best thing to do is to find the torque spec’s instead of taking the word of someone like me. That being said, it is about as much as you can put on a 12” ratchet without a cheater bar. Make sure you are using a good 6 point socket and get it on...
Replacing the copper washers is the best thing, but if you grew up 70 mi. from the nearest autoparts store, you learn a few tricks. The copper washers get work hardened and you have the problem you described. One second best solution is to heat the washer up moderately hot and drop it into...
Welcome from a Western Slope Native!! My granddad homesteaded in the West Muddy country. I picked peaches in Palisade for summer work when I was a kid!
I'm getting ready to sell the chassis of my M109A3 because it is non-turbo and doesn't really have the power to pull that heavy a load...
Ditto. The only units that mounted any other .30 cal were ARVN units, who had a real hodge-podge of equipment and a few Air Force security installations. Anything bigger than a .30 was not authorized, doesn’t mean it wasn’t done though. Heck (substitute your own word here) we even had a 40mm...
I believe that is a Piper Pawnee. There is a place in California that uses them for glider tow planes. I do see the spray gear under yours. COOL PLANE!!

I just won the bid on an M923 and will be roading it, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, depending on the EUC to Denver, CO.
I can haul or tow and I can pick my route. PM me.
I got a scrapped 101A1 with the inner part missing. I unscrewed one from one of my 105s. Something isn't right if it's not supposed to just unscrew. I cleaned and lubed it and it went right into the 101 outer tube with ease, even went far enough in to use on flat ground.
I'd like to find a...
But ... There has to be an inspection. On my M109 a state trooper examined the data plate. It's been 4 yr. since I've seen an SF97 and I don't remember exactly how all that goes.
I have my bid in, the question is will I follow it through if someone else gets interested.
I'm only willing to...
It lists serial numbers with the description, but what about year of mfg? That will be important since I probably want to license it as a collector’s vehicle. Also, I DON’T want to have to get a salvage title on it.

Whatever you do, don’t damage that big nut; you won’t find a replacement. I was in too much of a hurry a few years ago and failed to notice that there was a ding in the threaded part of the lunette and turned the nut past it. It ruined the threads in the nut. Long story short, I couldn’t even...
No problem! I towed an MKT-85, which is on an M103 chasis, at those speeds. I’ve also towed M105s at highway speeds.
If possible, pop the little hat and get a look at the grease. You might at least jack each wheel up and see if it spins okay. You could easily have a stuck brake shoe...
I had something similar happen, but I was lucky that it was the connector that melted down. It happened somewhere between the GL yard and Manhattan, KS. I stopped for lunch-dinner and it wouldn’t start when I got ready to go.
Speaking as one who has detonated a battery in a van, you only...
I got the blinkin' beast running right!!
When I got it (June, 2007) I didn't know it, but it had a dead in-tank pump. Things were pretty good, for a non-turbo, but when I ran it out of fuel and got air into the lines my troubles started. Without a good tank pump, the IP boost pump just...
