Don't worry about the math hogwash, are you sure its the timing and not stuck injectors? Your unit fires but won't stay running right, so its not the glow plugs. Dumb question now, but you prime the engine with the switch and hear clicking that stays steady around 10 clicks in 5 seconds. Then...
Rickf, I talked about the disassembly and components of the IP in the 16th post in the thread "MEP002a not starting". You do need to keep the check valve that is in the fuel supply line from the last filter that goes into the IP. I am not aware of any restrictor any where else. You can take out...
Just curious, does anyone know exactly how much rub there is front AND back at FULL articulation? Like I said, just curious. I love the look of the 395's and will definitly do the same upgrade when the money tree blooms, nice job esp. with the extra gauges. That whole bit about the toe in or...
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!..........Holly cr_p, its like Christmas lights, if one goes out, THEY ALL GO OUT!
So the left heaters terminal is grounded and the right heaters terminal is hot, the two - hot and ground get together at the coils and make sweet heat! WOW that was tough, now my brain really...
OK, I see the insulation on the bolts. So the block is electricly isolated from ground and the heaters both get power, just the second one in reverse than the first. OK got it, but does that mean that when the heaters are activated the block is energized with 24 volts. That is the only way...
I hear what your saying but I don't see how that could work. Power goes in to one, insulated from ground, into the heating element and then to ground via the threaded body. If there was power from the first heater transfered to the second thru the block than the block would have live 24v and...
Another problem that I noticed with the flame heater nozzle is that mine was constantly leaking fuel into the manifold. This was causing a black sludge leak to seep from the manifold elbow gasket and from the intake manifold where it mates to the heads causing streaking down the block. I had...
Sweet paint job!
I have 3 questions/coments
Did you apply the tape/grip to the steering wheel? Dang those things get slippery don't they especially when its cold!
I had replaced my front steering boots with the similar rubber zip type and 3 months later had to replace one because it cracked...
I know that this is an older thread but I'm trying to follow up on a coment made by another member. I wanted to put this here in this thread and not clutter someone elses discussion where this originated.
This is in regard to the manifold heater wiring. The attached pic. is how my OO2' came to...
Luckydog, what you said about the glow plugs wired in series I got, but you are throwing me for a loop with the other two, now I'll have to go look.
On the injectors - all asembled when you look at it now you see the big nuts on top. That allen hole is just a pipe plug and the big nuts are just...
Luckydog, for some reason I am thinking you mentioned that your generator used to run. Am I correct or did I misinturprate something I read?
Does anyone know if the air filters in the classifieds will work on the MEP 2's? They look like they have two openings on them, or is the one on the...
There are two glow plugs, I don't know if they are both used and if one is a spare that you can just switch the wire to the other one, I'm not sure. The dribble you hear returnig into the fuel tank is normal, and if it sounds like a dribble like (mine does) your good. In regard to your stuck...
I have some 2cents to add to this but don't know where to start so please bear with me.
First, LuckyDog and Joesco, have you guys read "MEP 002A not starting" and My first MEP-003 start"? (I don't know how to do links I appologize.)
Joesco when you turn the start control knob to prime, do the...
It may be a corroded cable in the jacket, the truck originally didn't have a winch so it probably wasn't used much except to warm it up. Pricy like how? The hand throttle isn't an integral part of running the truck, it is a secondary attachment to the same rod the foot throttle cable goes to.
