    Payment to GL

When you bid, you told them which card to use from the ones on file. They will bill that card within 3 days of close of sale for the items you won. As soon as payment & any other paperwork clears, you will get the paid in full invoice. The only way to change it is when you are making a bid or...

    Tow Chains for the Deuce

If you use the wrong tire, it will. When I pulled out the dozer (as mentioned above), we used an old tire from the dump truck as our "link". For vehicles, I typically use a 16" steel belted radial tire unless the only thing handy is a 15". They'll wear out after a couple uses, so use an old...

    Antifreeze disposal/reuse

Check with your local landfill. Many have a hazmat recycling center that will take the fluid off your hands. Some communities have a center setup for this as well. Some repair shops will also take it off your hands to properly dispose of it. I keep a couple old 55 gallon drums around, one...

    Tow Chains for the Deuce

I know that to jerk a chain against a stuck vehicle is a BIG no-no, so I was taught another method that prevented us all from buying straps. We take our 3/8" logging chain (grade 43) and wrap it through a large tire (no rim). Put some heavy canvas over the chain and you can usually get a...

Fairbanks, AK Injector pump to UPS Store

Well, we do have a UPS Store. Not sure if Kinko's is still open or not, I think it is. The UPS online quotes the ground rate is $58.77 (which I know will be off from the store cost). I can assist though. Send me a pm. I can run over there during lunch and get it next week if I have the...

    Alaska SF-97 Information

Yeah, it could be the office itself. The link to the page mentioned above is: Impound Sales - DMV For some reason, they put it under the impound titling information instead of the government sales section. Will see what happens when I go to title the 3 recent trailer purchases after I get...

    Alaska SF-97 Information

For those members that are in AK, I recently dealt with the SF-97 transfer on my M105A2 and wanted to give everyone a heads up with the Fairbanks Office. The Fairbanks DMV office manager made a one time exception, but told me that they will not accept the SF-97 in GL's name to do a transfer to...

    m105 info needed please.

To convert, it's fairly simple, just change out the axle to a electric brake axle. I am not aware of a hub assembly that will bolt to the military axle and give you electric brakes. With fairly normal hand tools and an extra pair of hands (or two), you can swap out the axle in a couple...

    M101 A2 Helper springs

I can attest that the IH Scout line does in fact have 2" springs (for the most part). Older 80 & 800 models were sometimes smaller (I have 3 of them). You can get them made at any spring shop, so availability is not an issue.

    M101 A2 Helper springs

You can get 3" overloads. I had a pair for my old truck. You may be better off getting your hands on some coil springs and utilizing them between the axle and the frame. Have seen it done several times for a fraction of the cost with the same benefits.

    m105 info needed please.

I also pull a M105 with my F250. I have it at the office with me today to assist with a co-workers move. I converted the turn signals to 1156 12V bulbs, left the rest as 24V bulbs and rewired the plug to a 7 pin. I have the pinout at home for that conversion as well. It sure looks "odd"...

    Crane Base Reinforcement

If you don't want to mess with the mud flap mount, build a support frame with 1/4" angle (minimum thickness) and the 1/4" plate. Use the angle directly between the lock washers and the bed for each set of two bolts (two angles total) with the vertical legs towards each other. Then take your...

    Road trip to Alaska

I finally had a chance to finish reading through the thread and what you intend to do. It should be a great trip, and I'll provide parking as you pass through if you need it; I'm about 10 miles outside of Fairbanks. You will pass Eielson AFB just before you get to North Pole. If you are to...

    Road trip to Alaska

Also in Fairbanks. I've got a welder, torches & plenty of tools if'n you need a hand. Just give a buzz on your way through. Should be a fun trip. As for the Dalton, the truckers utilize both the CB and VHF, monitor Channel 19 for most of the trip. Can get you other frequencies if you've got...

new M416 trailer in the stable

In terms of wood or metal decking, I would recommend the diamond plate. You can get aluminum or stainless, but plain steel would be fine and at a sever fraction of cost. Just do a good job with the primer before installation, then either paint it your color of choice, or look for a colored...

    How does it work

Again, the $150 is the "Starting" bid. It'll go up from there, sometimes considerably. It's an auction, if you could go down to the yard and pick it up for $150, my yard would be full of trailers (and other vehicles) right now...

Wheel bearing lock nut socket size M211

I agree, that price is way up there, but McMaster Carr is really proud of their products. It is a 1" drive impact socket, the only other one I could come across quickly was a 3/4" drive thin walled socket that was going for over the price of the 1"! You may be able to modify a 3-1/2" socket...

Wheel bearing lock nut socket size M211

McMaster Carr carry's them. It can be found at this link for the 1" drive sockets: McMaster-Carr Or go to http://www.mcmaster.com and search for part number 5550A66 ($132.16 each) for the 6 point variation. I didn't see a 12 point model. HTH Bill

Going to look at a Deuce tomorrow

I'm not an expert Personally, I wouldn't pay 3k for that rig. Title or not. You don't have mud flaps or rear lights. Looks like it was partially parted for other rigs and now they are trying to get rid of the rest. My vote is to keep looking or only offer 1k (providing you get a title)...
