    M1009 weak floor?

Re: RE: Re: RE: M1009 weak floor? Will having line-x put down over the entire floor of the blazer strengthen it?

    M1009 weak floor?

Re: RE: M1009 weak floor? No rust at all, maybe just big boys getting in an out of the truck?

    M1009 weak floor?

I noticed that my passenger side floor has cracked. Basically at all four points where the seat mounts, anyone else have this problem? I had to jack up the floor, re-weld the cracked seams, then weld a panel over that, then I'm having line-x sprayed down over that. I'm guessing this will be...

Diesel leaking down the back of my engine

Take off the air cleaner and watch for leakage on the throttle linkage. I noticed mine leaking there when I shut the engine off. It doesn't do it when its running, only when off. Once the fuel has leaked out of the pump it stops leakin

Re: RE: Normal oil usuage? It has 123k miles on it, don't know if thats high miles or not??? Also the first time I checked it was when I first picked it up, so it had sat for probably a couple of months. When I checked it yesterday it had sat for a few hours, maybe that had something to do...

    Door sagging

I noticed that the passenger door on my 1009 is saggin towards the rear of the truck. I can lift up on the door and feel it move. I guess I need to replace the door pin and bushings? How hard is this to do?

    Normal oil usuage?

When I first bought it I checked it cold. I don't know when it was changed last or when they even drove it last. The oil was right at the midway point in between the add and full line (maybe just slightly below the midway point). Today I checked it hot after driving it and the oil level was...

    Normal oil usuage?

Are the 6.2L engines known for using oil? When I picked up the blazer last week I checked the oil and it was midway between the add line and full line. Today I checked it and it was at the add line. The truck has no oil leaks, nor does it blow unusual amounts of smoke out the tail...

Diesel leaking down the back of my engine

When I park mine overnight it takes a little bit to get it to start. It takes a few trys then it will start. Could this be because of the leak on the IP? Once started and warmed up, you can turn it off and it will fire right up

    too many miles??

When I picked up my m1009 from Ft. Jackson, I was told it had 23,000 miles on it. After some research (from a member here, thanks again), I have discoved it has 123,000 miles on it. It belonged to USPFO transportation at Fort Jackson. I have no idea what USPFO means...anyways, is 123k miles a...

    Paint question

I'm going to repaint my m1009. I don't have access to an air compressor so I'm thinking about ordering the 383 carc substitute in spray cans from Rapco. Is it possible to make it look half way decent? Will it look a lot worse because I'm using spray cans instead of an air compressor?

Important Fuel Injection Pump question, please help

Is it something that should be fixed immediately? Can I drive it this way or should I park it until fixed?

Important Fuel Injection Pump question, please help

I found the leak in my 86 M1009. I traced it up to the injection pump. I took the breather off and noticed fuel leaking from the driver's side of the pump. It looks to be leaking where the throttle cable attaches ( I don't know what the exact part is called). Heres a pic, the leak is coming...

Just picked up the M1009, a couple leak questions

I just brought home my 86 m1009 from Ft. Jackson, SC. After a new battery it started right up! I have found two leaks so far. The first leak is easy I think. Its leaking transmission fluid out the output shaft of the transfer case. The fluid gathers up on the u joint and drips down. I'm...

    VIN question

I just received my invoice from govliq on my 86 m1009. I've got the vin they sent me. I've used the resources here to decode the vin. My only concern (its little) is the factory code of where it was manufactured. According to the resources here, F means the Flint, MI factory. All of the...

    Fort Jackson, SC

I won an 86 CUCV m1009 last week at Fort Jackson, SC. I did not have the time to go and preview it before I placed my bid. Now that I won, is it possible to go and look at it before I come back and take it home? If so, anyone near that area that could help me out?

    New guy from Georgia

Well I just got an 86 m1009, I just have to wait for all the paperwork to clear! My name's Jason and I from Georgia. I've had a few K5's over the years, but not a CUCV yet, so I'm pretty excited. Glad to be here, seems like there's a ton of information
