Gumbo question
While we're on the subject of gumbo...Where else might one pick up a pair of 24 volt lights for reasonable cost? I think my chances of just finding a pair in the leaves are pretty slim!
I did take note of wiring 2 12 volt ones in series... but if one bulb burnt, the other...
Ah Ha! Since we're on the topics of winches... I had wondered about the 10K rating on a 13-14K vehicle...
I will soon mount one on a deuce, and was looking for some real world experience with winching a deuce..
So, Mangus, you gotta tell us a story now! (oh yeah, pictures too...)...
Clarify Please
I'm by no means being a smartXXX but need some clarification re: a few things.
I understand that pumping the pedal would be a no-no, but what about holding the throttle at just less than 1000 RPMs??
TM 9-2320-361-10 section2-14 specifically states to push the engine stop...

Bump...
I have a 72 M35A2 wo/w
NSN 2320-00-077-1616
VIN 04B97070

"stock #" 2320-00-926-0873
VIN 85K240 0940-10186
contract# DAAE07-84-C-J048
Thank You
I have been thinking about the same problem,... and one solution I've thought of but not tried yet is to run some gasoline mixed with the diesel. I think gasoline will burn hotter but not sure if that will work for our problem... I did discover that if i can get the motor to at least 200...
Oh, I'm too much of a newb to even know about the "old site" other than what I see in the upper left hand corner. I'll check there.

Is there a way to search member locations? I'm brand new to this whole deal, and would like to link up with someone in the vicinity...
Thanks

This has been my experience with smaller rigs (jeeps) and a traction bar would prevent the axle wrap that could occur with steering or worse, braking. Traction bars work to prevent axle wrap, but I can't recall ever seeing one on the front axle.
