Wow i actually have seen this truck in person.
I drove by it a few months ago, sitting in that exact position. Its a newer chevy truck frame with ifs and the body is rotten
It destined to go to china after the damage that has been done
What did you do to prep the intake?
I have one i want to paint but want to do it right.
Are you painting your injector lines also? just thinking out loud
Did you buy those off of GL?
I see that an auction ended with 7 heads brand new for 591.00
Thats a sweet deal
And i would replace the heads in pairs to avoid any difference that there may be (c or j code, or for 6.5 will have different precups i.e. slightly different compression)
Google tells me that it has friction modifiers in it. Those could cause problems with injection pumps. However Atf also has fricition modifiers and lots of people run that.
Msds says its good to burn

From what i've read If you have a crack free block it will stay that way.
Im not sold on girdles as doing anything really.
All 6.2/5 can crack, Some dont and those are the keepers
82 is know as red block, supposedly with higher nickel, but none of those would be in cucv's as they started in 83...
What turbo are you running?
And this is a m1008?
And on another site, a 6.2 boosted 40 psi with the stock bottom end, no girdle. All the rods bent but the crank/webs survived.
Hah if your worried about those rpms you gunna drop a log when you read any m1008 top speed threads
Search is your friend, i run mine over 2700 rpm's even up to 3000

I'd buy an 80's chevy truck for scrap price
Make sure the axles are 3.42's or 3.73's
Put them in your truck, and have a parts vehicle on hand, sell off parts make money back
Free axle swap
Not worth it to go into the axles, At that point you might as well get d60/14b
Ah ha never got the full picture
Always your truck, your decision
Sorry op, and sorry bout your trucks at least with 2 trucks you can make one working one
I have all you need dstang, i told you that on dp lol. I paid 120 for it, Ill give it to you for that.
There is a big crowd forming against this swap
Keep the 6.2 alive!!
Im 19 and plan to be on this site for years to come
I also will own deuces and others (in due time) not only cucv's
I would prefer it be under a different name, but i dont think i am a special circumstance.
Too bad i was 18 when i joined and didnt think about the future lol
