Not yet... its VERY tight with axle, oil pan, steering clearances but the 715, 6BT, SUA axle swap has been done a few times before... it gets busy under the hood but it has been done already numerous times.
Sprayed a test shot.... Behr Ultra Premium Matte Base, mixed via competitor look up at Home Depot to Federal Standards - USMC 24052 Forest Green (WWII - thru Vietnam)
Just finished getting Cummins engine and Ford ZF 5-speed OD transmission mounted along with a like OEM Spring-Under-Axle swap (1990 Ford F350 Dana 60/Sterling 10.25).... modern 4 wheel disc brakes.
She'll be a highway safe, hydroboosted 4 wheel disc stopping, power steering diesel powered rig...
Alright guys,
I have a few major creased dings that I've picked and stud-gunned out but due to the inner door panel I cannot get a dolly to finish doing the hammering out....
As a consequence I'll have a skim coat of filler potentially.
How will the Behr paint adhere to Bondo (filler)...

Hey guys,
My M101A2 came with an A3 front landing gear...
It did NOT come with the crank handle though....
Due to my field of work (mech engineering), I have access to a full fab shop (CNC Verts, Horiz, CNC mills and SM breaks)
I really don't want to pay $50+ for a surplus crank handle when...
I opted for the pull pin vs. the spring loaded release lever...mostly because the leg doesnt hang down at a 30* angle...
Turned out nice!
Also swapped the leaking surge brake shock on the lunette for a new one...
Thanks I was thinking so but didnt know the full story on how the lunette interfaced with the master cylinder via the TM's. it does indeed come right out
TM gives a nice exploded view of the surge assembly etc.... but everyone looks like they are removing the entire assembly off the trailer A-frame....
Anyone try to do this on-trailer? Can you get away with just removing the landing gear and getting at it?
For search reference only: Surge...
I think I'll wire brush up, clean, and rusty metal prime... then OD 24052 it is.....
I was really thinking black for the frame paint... but seems all the 35a2's ive seen are all just green.... everywhere
I'm just thinking pressure wash the frame... wire brush it all.... and then Rustoleum Rusty primer it.
After a few weeks come back and top coat Behr Semi Gloss Black
I notice guys are throwing the Behr paint which appears to be over "everything" body frame etc.
Looking to spray my frame soon... POR15 isn't worth it to me, nor is it really my cup of tee.
Anyone spray a semi-gloss Behr Black and use it for a chassis paint? (or flat for that matter)...
Guys,
In the dissasembly stage of my rig and prepping for a Cummins 5.9L and Ford F350 Dana 60KP/Sterling 10.25 axle swap on my 67' Kaiser M-715. The jeep has yellow DNR paint over the original Olive drab. The DNR paint has survived 30+ years. And I'll never be able to remove all of it...
