Well all the CUCV's have a built in transmission cooler right? If I understand things, the pintle hitch was a weak point because it wasn't very strong/well supported...yes, no?
Thanks that's great to know, I will be finding out my ferry info tomorrow...well I hope, that's if the government doesn't throw me any curve balls. If you see a white M-1009 with T-1 on it you will know I am on board.
and
So the above is my route that I will be taking to Bellingham Wa. and from there I take the ferry. Should be an interesting trip, I will try and take some photo's. I will have my 99 Honda Civic (green might I add) in tow, so fingers crossed the old girl won't have a heart attack with the...
No worries
And why would someone target SS anyways? Does olive drab = tyranny or oppression or something that I am not aware of? SS does oppress my wallet and time some but something has too. Thanks for letting us know and taking care of things!! These things happen.
I am in the Coast Guard and I looked into Canadian laws but it seemed like a fair amount of hassle and it would also add a lot of miles to the drive which I'm not sure my Blazer needs. I could ship my car and everything else but then I would have to fly out there and where is the fun and...
in addition
I am thinking of getting a Uhaul car trailer and taking my Honda Civic with me. I have 31x10.5x15 tires on the blazer and I would certainly be putting a better hitch. The combined weight of the Civic and the trailer would be around 5k pounds. I know the TM's state that the max...
The writing on it says, Non-electric detonator assemblies. I tried searching for those cans on the internet with no luck other than getting on a watch list. If I come across any I will let you know.
It is a little bigger than a 40mm, it said something about non-electric explosive assemblies, not really sure what was in it except that I can't buy them at Wal-mart. I was at a gun show and it was sitting next to some 40mm ammo cans and I just thought it looked about the right size.
Here are some pictures of my center console project for my M-1009. I still need to mount it but it feels comfortable with it just sitting in there. The height seems about perfect but it does crowd the 4wd shifter a little, enough to make it a little awkward to shift it but not unusable. I...
A thank you and a question
First of all thank you all for your input and advice. I am now in the process of getting ready and i am wondering if anyone would have a recommendation on a heater, which ones are the best for an m-1009 and how many watts should I get?
They are PCSing me, it's a two year billet. I have heard about the bugs up there, I will have to get some serious repellent. I think the trip will be epic, I just hope it's not too epic (I.E. serious mechanical or other miscellaneous issue).
I am hoping to get the vacuum lines check out tomorrow if I can get out of work early and the weather cooperates. So a block heater and a battery heater? Is that part of the arctic package for the M-1009?
I will be moving towards the end of May so the weather shouldn't be too much of an issue. I think the ferry is going to be how I go about this, a lot easier than dealing with Canadians and their crazy guns laws.
I have an M-1009 and I just got orders to Valdez Alaska. The government isn't going to ship a vehicle and let me drive the other one and they won't ship firearms so driving there seems like it makes the most sense for me. I am trying to decide if my blazer will make it (I think it will, runs...
Update
I just tried another reduction gear and I had the same results so I plugged it directly into the transfer case and it's goes down to 10mph so I'm going to try a new speedo and see how that works. Any other ideas?
