Was this a good running truck before for you? If so I would check for gelled fuel and or a waxed fuel filter. Low power and white smoke in the winter =’s waxed fuel filter most of the time!!

STARTER SUPPORT BRACKET - DON'T FORGET IT!!! Don’t forget the starter support bracket!!! I makes a BIG difference in the life span of the 2 starter bolts, and the flex plate. Oh, welcome to the CUCV starter bolt club, I have been a member several times since the mid 1990's!!

Glow plug testing Even easier to just check for continuity with a meter. Go from ground to connector on the plug, if it has continuity it is good, if it is open (no continuity) it is bad.

Low sulphur caused lot of gelling problems when it came out years ago. I wouldn't be surprised to find the same for ultra low sulphur fuel. Go to your local fuel injection shop and get a bottle of Stanadyne Ice breaker. Treat the fuel with that. Also get some Stanadyne Proformance Formula Plus...

Missed this post, thanks for pointing out that I have the comlete unit, and cheaper shipping than Parts direct!!! I also have the temps sensors and relays if anybody needs them.

I would add that ours also come with the complete holder and wire harness, it's not just the card...

Trail ride in the Pines Boy that brings back memories, Looks like the trails haven't changed much in 20 years!! If you get a weekend trip going in the spring let me know. Heck the South Jersey club should just dust off the old camp/trail ride/picnic weekend again!!! I would be up for it.

Back in the day, mid 1980's the South Jersy club used to do a camp out and trail ride weekend. Had many a good ride!!! Would love to see it happen again, might even get the 1/2 track there for such a weekend next spring.
