I don't have any pictures right now, I would have to install them again. My son and I have put them on and off a dozen times trying something a little different each time. If the hinge is on the new windshield, and the hinge is closed, it will fit in the frame, but in that closed position I...
Hello,
I have 2 new windshields and 2 old hinges. The old windshields hung fine, but the new ones hang too low, they won't close. Tried everything I can think of. Do I need new hinges? The old hinges slide on fine, The old windshields had a more rounded design that makes up the hinge. Anybody...
I was under it and had my son work the handle. I had my snout right in there and could see air all around it. The e-brake was not stuck. That was the 1st thing I checked.
Eastern Oregon was where it sat. The tools in the tool box weren't rusty if that gives you an idea.
The truck has a heater...
I appreciate all the thoughts and ideas! I pulled both axles to get it on the trailer, but I didn't pull them one at a time and try to move it. The axles looked good, there was no sign of rust. I did go under the truck and had my son work the e-brake. I don't think it is stuck between 2 gears...
It is a 1968 with the air shift. The front axle moved, it is the rears that are stuck. They want to turn opposite of each other. We had to drag it out and turn it 90 degrees. The wheels bounced around trying to turn opposite of each other but couldn't and just dug ruts. Tried pulling it forward...
I brought home another Deuce today. It has been sitting 18 to 20 years. It was driven in to where it sat and never moved. We went to pull it out and the back duals would not turn. The E brake was not stuck and neither were the drum brakes. Something is locked up in the drive train. The clutch...
I've had good results with the rustoleum RMP topped with Behr latex. The only problem I had was when the metal was heavily pitted and I only put on 1 coat. Using a roller it left a few thin spots that did need more paint and those did rust through again. This time I gave the floor 2 coats...
We put a gallon of rustoleum, rusty metal primer on it and almost got it all covered. Just a few spots left on the underside. Next week weather permitting it will get the flat green behr ultra premium. I always get a kick at the product names. I got a gallon of icecream last week it was super...
Do you think it was a one off build or did the Marines make a number of these trailers? A lot of effort and detail went into making the trailer. My guess is it started out as a M101 trailer. Is that the designation with the 5 lug axle and before surge brakes? Before the A1 & A2?
Thanks
Did the marines put aftermarket beds on M116 trailers? I'm the 1st civilian owner. I thought M116 had 8 lug. This has 5 lug M37 wheels, big Budd nuts like the deuce. I have 5 pages of old paperwork and a explosive sign in that can on the hitch. Says Trailer, Cargo. Paperwork says it needs to be...
I got this UTO from the government. I think it was built for the military. It says it has a serial number, but I haven't found it. The paperwork I have for it says it cost $4474.
I've has this trailer quite a few years and it has become rusty. I intend to sandblast it and repaint it.
It was used...
I just got back from HD and they said my 34031 aircraft green must not be covered in their system, because it turned out black as in midnight black. I also got 34094 and that looked right, at least looking in the can. Anyone used HD for this code 34031? They claim a mistake is not possible, it...
I went to Home depot and used the federal standard 34031, 2 gal behr ultra flat came out black, without a hint of green. I left it there. I know this is an old thread but the number shouldn't change, I didn't think.
I've thought about doing this, because I'm getting old and the real thing is not noted for it's creature comforts. I've seen guys put in AC, sound proofing, seats, stereo, ect, but I haven't seen anyone take an 84 diesel Silverado Blazer and add on all the military parts from bumper to bumper...
I'm guessing the pump hasn't been used in 5 years. The valve that was cracked was on the bottom of the tank. The tank holds water now. I thought I could pump from the tank. If the pump draws air from somewhere that would be bad. I wanted to use the truck as a wildland type fire truck. I think...
