Looking for a glow plug relay...

Your temp sensor may not work right, if it is that far away from the block. It sould just be a little sender on the drivers side below the air cleaner, with two wires juning to it. Very easy to get to and a cheap fix as well. Sounds like some one may have added a bunch of fittings to it.!!

    Paint "freshening up"

Use a rag with Diesel fuel on it. Works good is cheap and is stain reistant. First application will use a little fuel and after that just a light wipe will get it done.

help with starting without Starting fluid.

It's not that big of a deal. Just read up on it first. Diesel's will get kinda "Blubbery", they loose that "Diesel crack". It never hurts just to see where you are at with those valves though. Also it just might run better if they are out at all. Good luck!!

    What to look for

well took a look at it...and it needs alot. No rust but holes every where. It belonged to a fire department, then a logger, so it's beat up some in the bed area, runs some gauges have been changed to SW's, car seat, not really what I'm looking for....So with that said, still looking and single!!!
