Well my poor multifuel engine is toast - i'm pretty sure. Just took a little time today to put on the new hydraulic head that I purchased a few weeks ago. Finally got all the lines hooked up and went to test it. Started fine after several seconds and I get out to check for leaks. No problems so...
If you give this information to "Carnac", on this site, he can give you background information on the truck. If he still does that, anyway, it's been a while since I saw that thread.
If anyone happens to have a hydraulic head model HD 90100A for the LDT465C, in good working, non-leaking order, I will make a trip out just for that as I really need my truck running.
Curious to how this worked out and if and where you found a new screw. I have a similar problem, however, mine started out with a leak around an injector tube. Got a new one and that stopped, but then noticed fuel coming from around the bottom of the HD - new seals and the leak is better, but...
I can't help with your state, but I know how you feel as far as the dmv goes. They don't seem to be very helpful with anything that isn't run of the mill. After trying a number of offices over the years, I found one dmv office that I like and I stick with that one with all my business. What I...
5,500 doesn't seem that high to me, as it seems by the description, to be in nice condition. You could easily buy one for a grand or so less, then, by the time you make all the improvements described, you're well over this asking price. Plan on working on the truck yourself unless you have...
Just out of curiosity, what was the process like to actually find and purchase the tank. Did you buy it without actually seeing it in person? Is it a direct government sale or private party? Too bad it had to be demilled and they can't just give you some type of permit.
Amazing amount of destruction. Really enjoy seeing the old mvs in action and their operators. Well, maybe on some of the German stuff, the operators may not have been present.
I had that problem on a f350 and it was the transmission. Except it would go forward but not reverse. I don't remember what the plastic / electronic part was called, but I pulled it off and put another one on and it would go in reverse and not forward. Transmission had to be rebuilt.
I'll confess. Many years ago, at a place not to far away, I had a similar mishap. I had a tandem trailer that I thought was safely on flat ground and I loaded up a small tractor that I had been using to load a small dump truck. Well I got the tractor loaded on the trailer and tied down just fine...
Haven't driven one yet - so I'm not saying I wouldn't change my mind. It would definitely have to have the original bed and lockers. It can't be just big and pretty it has to be useful for me.2cents
I've been trying to like the bobbed trucks (really like bobbed motorcycles), but it just seems like your turning a unique military truck into a run of the mill 4X4. I'm still trying though and I do have an extra truck.
I've found that people will ride up close, tailgating the deuce, whether or not I'm going the speed limit (45 - 50 mph roads). I have had people follow me down the 70mph interstate at 50mph for some reason. I haven't notice any negative reactions though that wouldn't be there regardless of what...
