Yes, the YA 314 Daf is a bit hard on fuel but it is sure fun to drive. I imported it into Canada from the Netherlands and at the time container prices were reasonable, and the trucks were quite cheap. I got a nice Polynor trailer with it.
The avatar is actually Dutch. It is the flag of a small...
Sorry I missed this thread before, but welcome from Canada. I also have a M1010 Ambulance and you may recognize one of my other trucks.
Met vriendelijke groeten,

Varsol is a copyright name of Imperial Oil/Esso/Exxon. It can be bought at Home Depot and places like that but it is packaged by one chemical company thay pays Imperial for the rights. It is a mineral spirit but in much purer form and therefore more expensive than cleaning solvent. Varsol has...
Hi Doghead
Unfortunately that's not my truck you are referring to. It belongs to Frank Moore and he has done a real nice job of installing the kit. My truck is actually an M1010, the Cadillac of CUCV's.

The show was great and worth the all night drive to get there. Thanks antennaclimber for the time you spent with Wilf and I explaining the glow plug controllers. I'm the guy that your wife asked if Wilf and I were married because we argue so much!!! Wilf bought a Mule and we got it in the back...
I need altenator brackets for the right (passenger) side, for a CUCV and a rear door handle for an M1010 ambulance. Actually any M1010 air conditioning parts for spares would be good also.

You are talking about a 25 year old vehicle and like any other mechanical item, they break. Preventative maintenance is important on any year vehicle and I always tell my customers at the garage that even new car dealerships have mechanics. Nothing is totally reliable.2cents

Yesterday Janet and our neighbour had a yard sale down the road at my neighbour's mothers home. Her mother lives on a main road and we live on a sideroad with tractors being the only traffic. She used the M1010 to transport all the stuff to the sale , which was a great success. Her first words...
JJ, like you I have considered the stainless line with the proper fittings which now come in black. I have to replace the lines anyway and install a spin on filter. The PO installed a Ford car inline fuel filter:cry: that I want to get out of there. My only reason for the stainless is I like the...
CDNM, check that the grease fitting you think might be broken isn't one that takes a special needle attachement for the grease gun. I am not sure on the CUCV but most vehicles that have a CV joint have that needle fitting.
As an aside, you live in a beautiful area. I went to my nephews wedding...
Hi Frank
What I had in mind was a console that is more vertical as I would still like to keep the walkthrough to the rear and I still need to access the shifter. Something like the dog house on a van. I was thinking of something to house the radio, backup camera, a few switches and some...
Is it possible that someone could provide me with the dimensions of the cover over the transfer case shifter on an M1010?
I would like to use that cover as the base for a console.
Thanks,
Barry
Thanks to the guys who posted the photos. You can't get views like that looking in the manual. You guys have made this an educational thread as opposed to a confrontational thread.
Cheers,
Barry
Tomorrow morning at 4:00 my buddy Wilf Alexander will be picking me up with his M1008 and we will be heading to New Jersey to pick up my M1010. The plan is to pick it up in Bridgewater and then attend the military vehicle show in Sussex New Jersey on Saturday and head home Sunday. We must clear...
