While it was too much, it was probably fair in todays economy. They charged $150 to go on base, recover and haul to their lot. They charged me zero to store the truck for almost 3 months while we waited for them to use my truck to fill an open load south. They flatbedded it down and charged me...
If you are driving anything other than a car/van/suv/pickup you will have to go in the commercial gate. If you have boxes/fuel cans/etc in you vehicle, they will probably send you to the commercial gate - I speak from experience.
Be nice to Sarah, she's good people and will take care of you.
Yeah Chris!
I didn't forget the follow up with the DMV official. Spoke to him last Friday pm and he passed me to the correct person. We've played phone tag this week. We're trying to work it out where VA DMV will issue GL buyers titles with a copy of the auction listing and the bill of sale...
Very sorry to hear of your troubles at Meade. I can relate. I've driven those entry and exit roads - and the darn traffic circle. Last recovery there, I picked up 2 M35's and promptly stalled out (fuel tank crap problem) 6 times before I could get past the NSA (that's National Security Agency)...
OK,OK,OK I'll admit it. It's me buying all the 813's in VA and MD. No, wait...that was a dream. I bid on all the 813's and the same buyer got them all - almost all of them.
I did win 2 813's at Richmond (along with another M35) and the 2nd 813 EUC cleared today. So who wants to...
Get your EUC sent in ASAP if it's at Indiantown, and then get it off the base/lot asap when the EUC clears - I had an issue with parts going missing there.
I used H&S Towing in Annville, PA to go remove it off the GL lot. They stored it for me until they could bring it down. They were cheap...
I'm NOT taking any sides or even expressing an opinion on the matter in question, but...
"So shut your dang mouth."
is not something that should be written in open Forum by a SS Mod on this site. It's disrespectful and not appropriate - just PM comments like that.
my 2cents
Sea Foam works great for every use that they list on the can. I've used it to clean out carbon in both small engines and cars/trucks. You can put some in before an oil change to clean out the crud in a crank case. The aerosol version, Deep Creep, works as well as or better than almost any...
Send in the EUC and schedule a pickup ASAP for anything at Ft. Indiantown! This is one of those lots that the soldiers have access to and stuff goes missing. I speak from experience.
I still need an air compressor and alternator brackets that were stolen from my last purchase there.
Almost more importantly, print off your post and give it to your insurance agent. Chances are, they will FREAK OUT at your suggestion.
It's better to know now if you are not covered.
