Possibly sucking air in one of the fuel lines or fuel filter housing (gasket/top square washer). Pressurize the fuel tank with just a few pounds of pressure and check for leaks.
Test it with a manual gauge, I thought several of my A2's with the 8.3 had low oil pressure at warm idle until I checked the oil pressure with a manual test gauge.
The alternator worked fine with no issues for about a year and half, then I sold the truck. I never hooked anything up to the "R" terminal, originally I had planned to wire it to a cigarette lighter socket to charge phones or GPS usage. Spider Marine was very good to deal with when I had bought...
The outer holes in the axles for the air fill lines on the CTIS were the same size as hydraulic fittings with straight threads (on my truck), not tapered pipe threads. Go to a place that sells hydraulic hoses and fittings and buy the hydraulic plug fittings with a gasket to cap off the axle...
Sounds like the PCB (power control box) might be acting up. Sometimes you can tap them with a hammer with the master switch on and they will make contact and start working for a while.
I had the fuel fired heater in one of my 925A2's, it was almost too hot. The TM's recommend using heat before defrost to prevent cracking the windsheilds.
On one of the trucks I have now, it has a Schrader valve on top of the fuel filter instead of a petcock valve. It works well to bleed the air out when you pressure the fuel tank with about 5# of air pressure after a filter change out. You can also pressure up the fuel tank to find suspect air...
On the M818, you can loosen the brass head on the selector valve after the handle is removed and then unscrew it the rest of the way after you drop it down. Not sure if the M931 valve is identical or not. I took the valve all the way out because my hoses were all in bad shape and I wanted to...
Sounds like a misprint, although I've heard of several M923 trucks equipped with hydraulics and a PTO. Or else someone has done some major mods or switched data plates.
M989A1 Recovery
FYI,
Trailer recovery last Wednesday went fine from Lansing to south of Chicago. At 11K empty weight, you know it's behind you; however these trailers do pull good. It was nice to have the right length air brake hose to replace the one that was missing.
Thankfully we missed...
Could someone with a M989A1 trailer tell me the length of the service/emergency brake hoses. I believe that they're 3/8" hose with a 1/4" adapter that goes into the trailer. I'm picking a trailer up that's missing one hose in the pictures. The TM manual showed the hoses; but I didn't see any...
