I agree with cbvet. But also remember when honing wheel cylinders the hone must be a very fine grit hone. Too coarse and you defeat the purpose. Wheel cylinder cups will not last long under a coarse hone.2cents
Yes, everything powers up with power to the push button and thru the button. And, yes ODD to have 2 relays go bad. One went bad about 2 mo ago and the other in the past few days. Both have the same symptoms. Saturn surplus is out of them. And that is one item I do not have in inventory.
Silly...
M109s are the worst for caved in tops. Seems the the troopers like to jump from the cab top to the van box. I have used the foot/leg method for those minor tops and then used the porta-power for the more severe. Gotta remove the seats, block the floor area and use a 2X6 across the top to...
I have 2 deuces that will not start using the push button starter. Have tried using a new push button switch on both but still does not turn the engine over. Nor does it engage the solinoid. I have been jumping across the starter/solinoid with a push button with aligator clips. I have power...
akexe,
Yes, the curb weight is less than the GVW of 26000# plus. My local DMV gal worked with me on my M51A2 therefore got a tag under the 26000# threshold. Even tho I hold a CDL she was able to reduce the cost of the tag considerably.
I would like to commend Bruce Lundy out of Kirtland AFB for his exemplary service.
We arrived the Sante Fe NG at 0845 hr on 12-5-08 and he had several folks there and most of the trucks were already running and pointing out which were ours to recover. He noted any problem areas and was assisting...
Dear Sir,
I am making an inquiry regarding my last purchase/recovery of an M35A2.
VIN-0525-11131, registration-04F81370, NSN2320-00-077-1616
Purchased May 2008 out of Tinker AFB.
Thanking you in advance for your service,
Gary
Surely you jest? I assume the cam is broken? Why did the cam break? At this point I would pull the engine or at least determine if the problem is metal fatique or something locked up. If metal fatique perhaps getting by with replacing a cam?
I was in Nam and in the Corp same time as beaubeau and yes in my unit we did drive the deuces with "reckless abandon". We did nothing slow. Faster the better. And I do not recall distroying and engines either. We did not loose trucks in that manner. We had multifuels and all were whistlers...
Everyone that has responded has provided you with excellent ideas of trouble shooting the problem. Using the long screw driver is an excellent but cheap stethascope. Have used this for many years to locate a problem.
If you have a tag on the engine dated 1991 then it was rebuilt in 91. I believe...
Very interesting event. And an event that has alot of memories attached for many GIs. I appreciate them paying tribute to a very tumultuous time in the war. I would like to attend but much too distant and my emotions would probably come unglued. The same with THE WALL. Unable to look at it.
If...
Since it is a 1954 probably not a 5 speed overdrive. Even some 60s era trucks did not have the OD. My M51A2 Jeep-Kaiser does not have the OD. Top speed is about 45 and smokes like a chimney even with a turbo.
I am using the Amsoil filter system. Noted to be a 2 micron filter and easy to mount. I am going to mount in the drivers side wheel well close to the tool box. I have machined 1"X14tpiX3" bolts and cut down the original oil filter canisters. Temps get pretty low up in on the mountain so will...
