    What 6.2 engine is this???

Lol! Thanks guys, i guess from hmmv's? seems like these would be great upgrades in the m1008-9's after the 6.2 has had it, though I am not sure what the firewall clearance would be in keeping that setup, prob have to go to to the pass side.

    What 6.2 engine is this???

This went for auction in the 650.00 range when another 6.2 was 170.00, plus I have never seen on listed as a 6.2 with what seems to be a crossover pipe in the backside with a turbine housing and turbo with inlet tube running in between the intake banks in the valley of the motor???

    M35 vs M813???

Wow, thanks for the great new responses, as obsessive as this may sound my plan is to have a 1009, 1008, m35, and 809 series (thanks for the terms education).. Of course like was said start slow, going for the Cucv first but there are some private guys selling some of the big boys very close to...

    M35 vs M813???

Interesting point on the component weights, an the 5tons have power steering while the dueces don't?

    M35 vs M813???

Great points guys! Thank you. The tool situation is one I never even considered, my garage is setup for boats and reg trucks, largest stuff I have is 1/2" drive for frame/suspension/drivetrain/trailer stuff.. I have engine stands, and hoists but I doubt they would even lift the engines in...

    M35 vs M813???

New to the MV world and I have a question about the pros/cons of getting one vs the other. Seems most 813s are non-turbo vs most M35s being turboed. Is it harder/more expensive to maintain the 813, how are parts availability of each. From the GL auctions I have seen the 813s don't seem to be...

Turbo and aftermarket A/C in 1008/1009????

Didn't see any specific threads related to this. One with a 92 turbo set going on a 1031 but no pics. I was just wondering with the NAP a/c kit or others if you can have the turbo and a/c, cake and eat it too???? Maybe a different bracket to move the alt or the a/c condensor around?

    Cucv radios??

And can the Rt-524/246 talk to CB radios or vice versa? Seems like the 524's run around $500+ and the 246's are around $250? That is good shape. Is this about right?

    Cucv radios??

Great info! Thanks, I was thinking if it's even possible to listen in on local military chatter, I'm near a few bases(if that's even possible) but be able to communicate citywide at least if something happened to commercial communication infrastructure, not that I'm building a bunker.... Maybe a...

    Cucv radios??

What is the range on those, the rt246 or rt524? Also where is a good source to buy new/refurb radios? Are these more powerful than your standard "cobra" CB and whip antennae?

    Cucv radios??

Are the radios that came in the cucv's especially the m1009s worth acquiring for an added touch of authenticity and usefulness? What is the range on them? Are civilians allowed to use them? I'd just like to go with an authentic piece especially if say the phones went out.... Hehe!

    $3500 M1008s??

Well makes sense. Basically I just need a couple/few trucks for my property. One or two 1009s for the road and highway or one or two 1008s for load hauling and such.. I know the older diesels are better at handling the biofuels from what I have read, which is important to me since I am going...

    $3500 M1008s??

Just saw some barstow CA trucks that I had in my watchlist close at $3500!! Said engine starts on both but good lord that seems outrageous! Is this just since they are becoming scarce? I'm looking to get an 1008 and a 1009, get them up to great stock shape and run them on my own biodiesel. I...

    Swap in 6.5 in CUCV???

AH... So now we enter the P.I.T.A. territory, seems to be getting more $$$ and more time involved.. better to find a used 6.5 turbo civvy somewhere. Unless I can find those heads cheap, then figuring what condition they are in...

    Swap in 6.5 in CUCV???

I have searched as much as I could to find the info and also not make a double thread if somebody already has. Seems like the 6.5 already makes more power than the 6.2 and I have seen a few go up for sale on the Gov Liq site for pretty cheap. From the reading I have done the 6.5 gets into the...

    No CUCV's in Florida???

I have come across some priv dealers selling some that are cleaned up and in great shape for around $4k, good seats, int, paint, running well (according to ad), that seems resonable to me, lately alot of the trucks on the GL site have been pretty rough, but like ABN173 said, prob getting to the...

    No CUCV's in Florida???

Interesting, a bunch at camp blanding? I am in Jacksonville so I was hoping something would roll through NAS Jax, I saw a ton of tan deuces there a week or two ago but no 1008s.
